Here's some initial fabrication shots of my side steps. Really like the hoops & step pad look!!!

They initially mounted the actual rail too low & a little too inboard so they're gonna have to move it a bit. Hopefully will get a better shot of the final position before the end of the week.

Here's the front Mile Marker hubs finally installed. They had to machine a groove inside the hub for these to work... Notice the nicely painted OE calipers & upgraded EBC GreenStuff brake pads - should stop nicely!

Why the groove? Snap ring?

And here's the correctly "repositioned" side step bars! They're still not final welded or anything as they wanted me to Ok everything before going into that part... Think they look GREAT & there surely won't be another crew cab out there with ones like these on it!!! :metal:

Yep. These hubs originally had the auto locking style & guess it was a mid-year thing or something & the Mile Markers needed an internal groove that most later models have...

A few clearer pics of the actual mounts for these rails. Somehow doubt that I'll ever have much trouble with these getting weak or sagging on me!!!

Yeah, frame has already been media blasted & powder coated just like the axles. The frame mounts for these step bars will also get added gussets before all the final welding is done.

Finally got the correct part number for the A/C condenser so it's all ordered from LMC Truck & en route. The shop will then have everything for the system other than the actual lines (which need to be custom made) & the correct o-rings for the R134a.

 Duh..... Just realized that I wrote condenser & what I actually meant to write was evaporator! There were two different models used that year & they had to figure out which I needed.

Well... For some reason Summit cancelled my order for the left hand door latches (Goodmark) - guess because it kept getting pushed back for whatever reason. Oh well, LMC Truck has them in stock, so I will just place the order with them (like I should'a done in the first place it turns out).

Summit just did the same thing today on my cold air kit from Spectre... Must be cleaning out all the back orders I guess.

They used to and I'm sure they got tired of people yelling at them so they quit doing it.

Re: 1977 Chevy K30 Crew Cab Build

Shop's telling me that the Corbeau seat brackets I bought don't fit my truck properly... They called Corbeau & they do have the correct part for my year, but think it has to do with my truck being a crew cab rather than a regular cab, so they'll just have to modify them to work in mine - not a big deal really...
Should have new pics to post tomorrow evening with any luck as well.

Probably needed to have ordered them for a suburban. Oh well. It will all work out in the end.

Re: 1977 Chevy K30 Crew Cab Build

Well, the shop called & talked to Corbeau for quite a while - apparently they only sell one style bracket for the 73-87's.... No biggie really, seat brackets get modified & mounts changed all the time - plus the shop is GREAT at fab work!

Here's some additional pics of the side step assemblies after getting more permanent welding. Still gotta get smoothed & sent out for powder coat a little later on. Also, the bolts you see on the step pads still need to be swapped out with a button head style to match the other stuff on the truck.

The Corbeau bucket seats actually got mounted today after they modified the brackets - still gotta final weld it all & "dress it up" a bit. Can't freaking wait to be behind the wheel in these seats!!!!
Factory rear seat will be sent out after paint to be recovered to match the look of these seats, so it'll all tie in pretty well.

Here's another shot of the front hub look too. These are the wheels & tires that came on the truck when I bought - NOT the one's that will be on the finished product! Just wanted to see what the brake calipers looked like through the holes - although the other wheels have round holes & are black in the middle...
