Plz text me. New phone and lost a few contacts.
May want to extend those pipes out to the edge of the bed. Your ears will thank you by getting the sound out from under the bed. As is, it will resonate under there like a couple 55 gallon drums. That little bit of pipe is not very expensive.

Kinda generic color renderings of specific paint colors? I can play around in photoshop if you just want basic colors.

Thanks! Theyre offbrand flowmaster knockoffs. They're pretty low key till you open them up.I think the x-pipe softens them up a little too. This is just temporary till I can afford full length headers and some hooker aerochambers. I had him angle the turndowns out so they wouldnt bounce sound off the ground and bed bottom as bad. This was a $200 exhaust sytem just so I could drive it. lol.

That would be awesome. Im trying to decide between synergy green and atomic orange. Wifey really wants the green but I just have to see the colors on my truck to decide.

Finally figured out a way to attach my air filter to my MAF. I think I was missing a piece??? Anyway I bought a 3" to 4" adapter at Lowes, heated up the 3" side with a heat gun and stretched it out to fit over the MAF sensor. Looks like it belongs there.

Both really cool colors. I am looking at that orange for mine...along with a couple other colors. Those are going to be tough to replicate, but i'll see what I can do.

For the record, in racing lore, green cars are bad luck.

Well I got the bed back on but the extra weight didn't help traction much. Im definitely going to be getting some drag radials!! Love this tune aknovaman put in this thing!! I let my uncle drive it yesterday and he couldn't stop smiling. If I just had a functioning heater Id be daily driving it right now!!! Man this was a lot of money and really frustrating at times, but Im sooooo glad I went this route instead of building a carburated smallblock. Love how this thing just fires right off and drives in 20 degree weather. However, I have noticed what seems like a really bad lifter peck. I comes and goes.. anybody have any ideas as to what might be causing it? When it starts doing it, it does it for a few minute, then it just goes away, then comes back later. Driving doesnt matter...I can let it idle for ten minutes and it will come and go maybe two times in that ten minute period. Do I have a lifter going out? Also, the engine runs at around 203 degrees regardless of outside temp. Is this normal or high?

Re: Project "Steppin Wolf" LS swap

203 won't hurt it. Mine runs between 195-205 depending on if I'm sitting or not.

That makes me feel better. I was afraid it was getting too hot.

Thats normal operating temperatures.
Whats a small block?
Change your oil a few more times. Run a quart of Risoline in it for 50 miles before oil change.

Re: Project "Steppin Wolf" LS swap

Do you know what temp thermostat it has? Sounds like it might be a 200. I wouldn't worry unless you see 230 or regularly see 220. I'm talking stock engines, not built.

I put Risoline in when I first noticed the tick. ;)
I was going to run it about 100 miles, then put some engine flush in and change back to full synthetic. Its got cheap oil in it right now.

I put the factory recommended replacement in it. I believe it was a 187. I remember it was an uneven number...not the usual 160, 180, or 195 like i was used to with small blocks.

aknovaman 01-21-2016 10:14 PM

Re: Project "Steppin Wolf" LS swap

Factory is 195 on all the LSx based engines I have seen. They typically run 195 to 205 degrees.
