Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**
So what size tires is everyone running on the 20's? Is there a thread somewhere (I tried looking) or website that has pics of the different sizes? I don't want no rubber bands. The best I could come up with is 295/40/20 and 255/40/20 but can't seem to find a close pic of how big the sidewall is. I'm not that good when it comes to tire sizes. Brossow, whats the difference between the 255/40/20 and the 245/40/20 that you got? Any pics? - Edit also my local tire guy can't get these sizes in the same brand. He told me online ordering and he could mount and balance for me. He said he checked almost all warehouses in southeast and no one has these sizes in matching brands. Any thoughts?

To answer your question, the 255/40-20 is 10" wide with a 4" sidewall. The 245/40-20 is 9.65" wide with a 3.86" sidewall. You didn't ask, but the 295/40-20 is 11.6" wide with a 4.65" sidewall. Ideally I would have gone with a 295/35-20 in the rear (with a 4" sidewall) to more closely match the sidewall height up front, but that size wasn't available in the tires I wanted. I don't have any pics of the ones I picked out today -- they had to order 'em in special and they're coming from two different locations (rears from NC and fronts from GA). Quote:

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**
SECURITY GUY - My 96 GMC Yukon, pictured in post #522 on the previous page is running 20x8.5's and 255-40-20's in front and 20x10's and 295-40-20's out back.
thanks to all involved in the group purchase deal, I have been wanting to wheel and tire my Yukon for over a yr now and just couldn't make up my mind which wheel I wanted and I was doing research on the Boss 338's and found this forum. with info and deals like I have found on this site I think I will stick around. The price was what made me pull the trigger on these whells and I'm glad I did. |

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**
good news for those waiting for chrome...
They are starting to hit the warehouses. This set is 5x4.75. They don't have any 5x5 yet, but they expect them shortly! http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...onedump004.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...onedump003.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...onedump005.jpg |

Got my wheels installed. 20x10 with 295-35-20 and 20x8.5 with 255-35-20 Nitto Invo's. I had the same problem with the hub bore. My dealer gave me 1/2 inch spacers and conical lugs. I think they they look sweet. I wish they made them in a 22. I really wanted 22's in the rear but all the big name wheels are way too expensive!

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**
WOW, looks great!

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**
That looks awesome! I was leaning towards the 18's, but those 20's are awesome.
Love the truck! |
Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**
Is anyone else having issues with the new o-ring center caps not fitting that great? It seams the o-rings are to big and stretch out instead of tucking into the center bore like they should.

I have never bought, seen , used , a wheel spacer. Forgive my ignorance on the subject.
Question. Would longer studs be required on the rear when using a spacer? |

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**
Question for you...(Sublvr 72)
I have read that your the guy to talk to for info and pricing on wheels. Do you know if they make the 330 in the correct 6 lug bolt pattern (Stock1969 short/fleet) and back spacing? Probably going to do a 4/6 or 5/7 drop on the truck and I was looking at 20x8.5 for the front and 22x9 in the rear. What do you think it would cost and take to get them to work?(shoot me a pm) Thanks Brandin |
Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**
ya got mine yesterday looks very nice I still kinda wish I would of held out for the 18's in front but oh well still is a nice combo

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**
I have an '82 C10 short, and I am on the line of buying the chrome or grays. I plan on running 20x8.5 up front and 20x10 in the rear. Sorry for stealing pics, just want to know people's opinions on which they think look best. Oh I almost forgot I plan on painting the truck black so this is why I'm up in the air on which will look best, and whether the chrome is worth the extra.

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**
personaly I like the bottom truck but it all depends on what you're doin to the truck and color you are painting it.

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**
well I plan on painting it glossy black so that is why I dont know whether the gray wheels will look good
|
Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**
i guess I forgot to add this are on a 5x5 bolt pattern for a 84 swb, I am a little confused on what all do I need to do to make this fit, spacers? or on the 20x10 on the rear with the 6.25 back spacing they offer any rubbing issues? my truck is not lower yet but I want to do something like a 5/7 or 4/6 any help is appreciated for this confusing matter ,,, at least confusing to me lol
