Unless you have a 71-2 x-member, no the 71-2 lines will not work for your application. The brake lines 67-70 are in the rear of the front x-member and 71-2 are on the front of the x-member

well are your lines going to the front or rear of the cross member. mine are in the rear and it's a 71.

Here's my rusty old 71, but as you can see lines go down to the back of cross member.

THey all go down the back,but the 71-2 go over the x-member and across the front to the caliper, the 67-70 stay on the back side of the x-member, look at the pics on this page and you will see my 67 truck with a 72 x-member and discs.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=209710&page=2 Also in the 2nd pic you posted of your 71 showing the shock up close, see the little flipped up tab at the end of the x-member without a hole in it? That is where the 67-70 hard line would stop and changeover to flexible lines to the drum. That same flipped up tab is on the front and back of the x-member, again 67-70 used the back tab, and 71-2 used the front tab. |

Yes you still have to use the correct lines for the year x-member you have, discs or not. The little tabs I mentioned are on both front and back,but will only have the hole in either the front or back. Thank you on the comments on my frame, it was a lot of work. |

1 more thing do your lines going to frame to the inside or outside of the frame? Pictures would be nice of lines, upper control arm area both sides front and back views, something like I took.

If you don't change the crossmember all you have to do is fabricate some little brackets to secure the transition from the metal brake line to brake hose from the caliper. I have a 68 and used lines from finelinesinc for a 72 model.

Did anyone else have to move headers or exhaust to install the prebent brakelines? Looks like thats what im going to have to do.

Great picture TCB-1!! If you look at this picture, you can see that TCB-1 used ONLY one of the front brake line ports. If you run a 3/16 line from the prop valve to the T located just inside the L.F. wheel that will supply the front disc brakes just fine. The other line 1/4" goes to the back.
do not be afraid of the infamous DOUBLE FLARE. It just takes a bit of practice. you can do this!!! I have a flaring kit I bought from Matco, and hated doing this until I did my last car. I made up my mind that I was doing it, and doing it well. Now it is just like scratching my elbow. Practice makes perfect. If you send me an email I will send you pics of my 69 with power disc brakes. They work, I double flared em, and it anit hard |

VDOG, if you buy a line kit for the prop valve from Master Power Brakes, it will bolt to the valve with a little wiggeling. I really like those guys, and ask for Pat when you call . send me am email, or teach me how to post a pice and I'll show you my truck

my flaring tool is a plain old manual flaring tool. It does a good job on steel lines, but Stainless is a good bit tougher
