It looks like your engine mounts are bolted to the rear frame mount holes. You should be able to move it foward about 2 or 3 inches into the foward holes. The trans cross member will have to be moved also. And then comes the drive shaft.

if you have a stock 400 crank, it would be externally balanced and would require a harmonic dampner and flex plate for a 400 crank. they have balancing weights affixed to them. you could check these two visually. on the other hand, you would not want a 400 flexplate or dampner on a 350 crank.

Ok Im confussed is it a 350 or a 383?
If its 383 than thats a 350 block and 400 crank right? as a 400 block and 350 crank would be a 373......aahh 373 I really miss that moter vroooooooooom!

400 block, 350 crank equals a 377.

Good catch I must have rear end gears on the brain as thats what im working on now lol.
