Hey Dennis, I am going to check with Greyhound today on how much it would cost to get those blazer seats to you. The console is long gone, it has a crappy homemade console in it now. The seat frames are in great shape but, the driver side needs foam. I think the passenger just needs recovered. We will talk money after I figure out shipping cost.

Thanks, I have to go out of town this weekend heading to Talladega, AL. Yeah, I am still tossing the transmission idea around. I am going to make a decision by Monday afternoon. I stopped by the trans shop to check on my
th350. They've added extra clutches, tweaked the valve body. I was told it should be a very stout 3 speed. So, don't know yet. The truck will not be a daily driver so gas mileage is not a big priority and neither is overdrive. Plus, save some money.

Just got back in town and my motor mount adaptor plates were waiting on me, sweet. Still have not made up my mind on the transmission. Any more opinions, 4l80e or stock rebuilt stock th-350.

If you have the harness for the engine and the ECU I'd run the 4l80e. Overdrive is great.

Under the blue U-haul blanket is my new 26,000 transmission. Made the leap and bought the 4l80e. Chuck even threw in a bunch misc. bolts from the donor truck and the maf sensor. I guess I will go ahead and sell the th350 I had built. I was told it should be a pretty nasty transmission.

Good choice. You can't go wrong with the 4l80e with this swap. That 6.0L and will perform much better with the electronic trans. Better mileage, electronic shift from the ecm, easier to set shift points, overdrive, will compensate for loads while towing etc. Shall I go on........ Can't wait to see it in the truck. :metal:

so the 4L80E is a 4wd transmission. what do i have to do to convert it to a 2wd.

No they also came in 2wd versions also. If you have the 4wd version you will need to change out the tail housing for a 2wd version. Any trans shop can do that.

i knew they came in the 2wd version. i just did not know what all needed to be done to make a 2wd version. i was also told i may need to look for the reluctor wheel, i think.

so, heres the question for the day. is it possible to go away from using a duel tank set up and use my blazer's 31 gal tank? i envision a hidden fuel filler behind the passenger taillight or somewhere, therefore allowing me to shave the two filler doors i currently have.

Yes but you will have to get a tbi sending unit that was used for that tank. One from an 87+ blazer. i dont have the part number.

I was going to switch to the blazer tank eventually.

I think the block turned out great. I wanted to go with Chevy blue since the truck is blue and will stay some shade of blue. Still can't make up mind on whether to paint the valve covers or just leave them alone. The low profile oil pan goes on tomorrow. Happy it came with oil cooler delete plate already installed. Picked it up at gmpartsdirect thanks to the handy dandy shopping list put together by Bob, thanks man.

Looks great! If it was me id leave the valve covers unpainted.

Not sure if you already took care of it but if your running standard brakes your going to need the bung for the vacume line in the back of the intake.

Looks good dude! I like the painted valve cover look! But either way they look sick sitting in the engine bay! :metal:
