Here are some pics for the police haha. with bumper removed. I still have to cut the welded brackets off and repair the frame horns.

Some more SMALL progress I did yesterday while we were slow. There were only two and a half front stabilzer bushings on it and the drivers side was gone and wasnt even bolted to the lower control arm. New moog bushings.

Re: 1979 c30 454
I like it man!
Look at the bumper problem from the upside though, If you want to, now's a super easy time to tuck the bumper or change the height if you need to. |

I got this bumper off a 77 k20 I parted out about 3 years ago. Its not perfect but its perfect for this truck! GLAD I kept it as I didnt even have nothing it would fit on when I parted it out. I havent repaired the frame horns yet because I havent gotten replacements yet but I was able to use 4 of the 6 mounting points.

Better pic . So far I have replaced all u-joints and carrier bearing, replaced my welded shifter with a good, tight, used one, new stabilzer bushings, repacked wheel bearings, oil change, cut wrong front bumper off and mounted correct bumper. I drove it home from work where I been keeping it thursday and used it to work around the house the weekend and will do the same this weekend.

Guys, I haven't put this truck on the back burner... I have been using it As is as a truck and its doing a great job. Right now it has a 48in riding mower, rake, shovel, weed eater and gas in the bed with enough room to spare for another mower! I love this truck.. Never knew how useful a flat bed could be. I have towed about 5 junk cars and countless loads of scrap metal with it. Pulls like nothings even there. Its not a modern truck. It likes it no faster then 60. Here is a pic of it with a load of junk headed to sell at the flea market. The truck could use a clutch but I am gonna wing it for now., When it gets to the point I don't have a choice I am gonna tear into the truck and get rid of the ugly school bus yellow. Pull the cab off, paint original red. Find all the missing a/c parts and go through the interior and wiring. The 454 is strong and runs great.. I would of paid the 1k I paid for the truck for the engine. I really believe its fresh and clean as hell inside too.
