How is the load carrying capacity of airbag systems such as the one you're installing on your truck (looks awesome by the way!)? Is it merely a factor of the airbags? Compressor/airtank size? No difference?

I assume that SMC valves can be mounted in any position, does anyone know otherwise before I drill a bunch of holes?:confused:

He won't mind, but you will. That ViAir compressor is a noisy mofo. It's about 10x louder than the Thompson compressors n2billet installed.


If I were you I would consider mounting it at the rear. Here's mine....

I see alot of guys with blazers put them behind the back seat, what about two small tanks outside the frame like N2Billet's?

Well it's gonna be a ROADSTER, so no back seats, or top for that matter :hm:

I like the dual tanks idea, have to take some measurements, I thought about
putting them under the floorboards on either side, not sure if it will work :(

I think they would have to be some very thin tanks to put them under the floorboards on a 72, the 73 and later I think have a lot more space.

Hey luv, take off the left and right rocker box covers and try to figure out a way to slip the tanks in the holes if they will fit and run the air lines out the back cover. I dont know, just a thought.

It shouldn't be a problem. The tanks looks longer than they really are. BTW- That's a 295/45/20 on a 20x9.5" rim.

I will get you the numbers if you want them but they are just the shocks that come with ECE's shock relocator kit, ment for a static drop. I have not tried them with bags yet. If your not in a rush I will let you know how they do when this projects complete, I may be trying something different myself. :)

Still moving along, got the drivers side of the front end done at least. The brackets from suicide doors couldn't be any easier. Finished up most of the wiring and plumbing. Hope to be back on the road very soon. :)

How about telling what each switch does?? I think I have it in my head, but want to know for sure!

And are those "On-Off-On" switches? I mean...center is off and you can throw them both ways?
I have looked every where for some momentary ones like that...that size. (INFO PLEASE)

Putter, on my particular switch box there are 7 total switches. 1 switch for each corner, 1 for front only, 1 for back only, and 1 for all 4 bags. They are "On-Off-On" switches, pushing them one way lets air in to the bag, and the other way lets it out. They always return to the center "off" posistion. I bought this box from *****************, I can't say that I have ever seen just the switches for sale by them selves, not this small anyways.

Putter, I did a few searches but can't find those switches right now. They are similiar to ones that I have used in the past. Keep in mind the switch controls a relay, so they don't have to be rated very high.

I used a similiar set up on my 77 with 5 switches. One for each corner, and one to dump the system.

I don't want to give my idea completely away, but there is a power window switch out there that gives you a switch for each corner (each window control), and a push button you could wire for dumping the entire system. I haven't wired mine up yet, but I bought it off eBay for ~$20. It has the added bonus that the switches will be backlit at night too. Now like I said, I don't want to completely give it away, but look up an early 90's 4 door bmw power window control switch.

Well, I finally got it all back together. Here are some pictures aired up and down. I would like to get the front down a little more so I am going to cut an inch or so off the bag cups. The ride is unbelievable, smooth like a cadi.
