Re: New looking for help
For me, that would not be a candidate to take apart and rebuild. There's just too many modifications made to it already, such as cut down from long bed to short, grill is from 69-70, repainted, newer model steering wheel, dash cut for radio, instrument cluster from some other year, 6-lug wheels instead of 5. Somebody has already pieced it together once from all sorts of parts. Don't get me wrong, it is pretty and I like it and it's probably a good deal if you want to get get it and drive it and make mechanical repairs to it as needed. You mentioned in your first post you would like to do a ground-up build, so I don't think this is a candidate for that sort of thing. But it is probably a candidate to get in it and drive and enjoy for a while and perhaps play with minor customizing.

Re: New looking for help
Correcting myself, instrument cluster may be from 72 it is just the type that has warning lights instead of gauges.

Re: New looking for help
I live about an hour from it & wouldn't bother to go look at it- too rough (the first truck). The second truck has had the VIN tag removed at some point- wrong rivets. Grab a trailer & head south!

Re: New looking for help
Bottom line , If can't confirm title and cab match ... RUN AWAY!!!

Re: New looking for help
If the title and vin plate match it shouldn't be a problem registering it even if the spid doesn't match .. it the rivets are wrong on the vin plate but the title matches that vin you should be good and if you look hard enough rosette rivets can be found and changed on the plate. The spid just won't or may not be the correct options for your truck
