Hmmm, been eyeballing Whipple for the most part, but Magnacharger is 80 miles from WFO Concepts... Sent them an email to see how they respond - this is such a "one-off" application, I'd much rather go into it with strong company support!

Also found a place really close to WFO called Motor Sport Image - they do a lot of new Corvette work - including supercharger upgrades, so they may be a little more willing to do the tuning than Mark seems to be at this time. Will contact them soon if I can.

Well, got an email back from the shop - seems as though they're all on-board & excited with a supercharger plan!!! Let the research begin!

Let's see - boost = heat, so how about a little Snow to cool things down??? The Stage III MPG-MAX kit from Snow would do the trick, plus pick up a little mileage. It's a thought.

The shops working on getting the supercharger parts researched & ordered. We're having the company making the air box cover hold off just in case we need to modify the dimensions of it with the new air inlet routing.

New ideas = more darn delays...... Gotta stop!!! Hehe :devil:

Cools the incoming boosted air, prevents detonation & also increases the octane a bit due to the methanol content.

It's basically identical - methanol injection works in any boosted application.

my4by2 - You can replace the brand name methanol with Moonshine or any type of 175+proof alcohol. It works just the same. Check the price/availability difference to see which is cheaper. I did lots of research on this for an engine I'm going to build one day.

I can just use winter blend windshield washer fluid - no need to buy the pricey "Boost Juice".

In order to get my new Mast valve covers to exactly match my supercharger case we're going to need to send them to Whipple so that they can get powder coated at the same time. Once the unit is assembled it can't be torn down & powder coated by us.

Got the email back from Whipple's tech guy & he gave us all the part numbers for the Hot Rod 8-psi kit, intercooler, 56lb injectors & the water pump for the intercooler. It's a go so I went ahead & sent the shop an additional check to cover it. With any luck the parts will be inbound soon!!!

This is the basic look of the kit. Mine will be in more of a "as-cast" finish matching the valve covers from Mast - just not sure how we're gonna accomplish that yet...

You can see why Keven will need to re-do the intake plumbing.

Ok, so no updates this week unfortunately....

The whole supercharger deal has thrown a wrench in the works & kind of halted the progress so we aren't doing unnecessary stuff. Add to that we are still waiting for the steering column to continue with wiring & it was mostly a total write off...

Keven should get the supercharger parts ordered this week, but as we will need to have the case & Mast valve covers powder coated before assembly, it may be a little bit before they get it in... Always something!

Keven's been asking me about alarm systems but I am NOT a car audio/security aficionado so not sure what to tell him really... Sure we'll come up with something good - it just has to work with my power door locks & all.

I'd definitely go with lo-jack or some other form of tracking device on a truck you've put this much money in, lol. Especially with how much easier it is to break into these old trucks. My father-in-law put a nice long distance two-way in his truck after it was broken into a couple times and his tailgate was stolen. It's really adaptable, they've got sensors for just about everything, as well as being able to be tied into the ignition. The brand is Scytek, might check them out.

Yeah, funny you should say that - the shop was just asking me if I wanted to go with a train horn! That's really not my style & seems kinda corny to me anyways, but would definitely draw some attention to the vehicle!!!

I like the idea of an air powered horn linked to the security system ;) That'll draw some attention when somebody messes with that truck.

Guessing from tidbits from your build, you may (or may not) work in some line of "defense contracting". If this is the case than you understand the terms "surprise, confusion, and deterrent". How many times have you heard a car alarm go off and just got annoyed that it was going off? How many times have you seen a roll-back tow truck picking up a vehicle from a parking lot and wondered what broke?

For your truck Off-the-shelf alarms just wont do! Why not add some pizzazz to ward off would-be villains!

If you want a noisy alarm, set it up with a police siren, and instead of the flashers going off, wire in a pursuit module (the thing that makes cops lights flash REALLY fast) to ALL your lights! That might scare someone!

To prevent component theft, my favorite for the engine is a integrated padlock behind the grille. For the sound system, or other electronics, tell the installers to get creative on installation! Who cares if it is hard to remove!
