When he first installed the overhead console I bought off eBay into my truck, he had ZERO frame of reference for how it went on there... He ended up installing nut inserts into the ceiling to attach it. Once they tore into that Suburban that I sourced the power window doors from - it had the exact same style of console & when he tore it off he found the factory bracket that properly spaces it for the headliner!!! Luckily he caught it & now it's in my truck so it'll be fitting correctly when the time comes for the new headliner to go in!!! :metal: |

Sorry for the delay - here's the new Holley intake all mocked-up on the motor :clap: I think it looks AMAZING already & it's made a huge difference in the overall appearance of the engine bay!!! Unfortunately this shot doesn't show the new Mast valve covers installed - you gotta wait a bit for that one... |

We're waiting for the new injectors from Holley & the pigtails from F.A.S.T. before Keven can get all the fuel stuff mocked-up on there as well.
Also awaiting some additional aluminum tubing so he can start working the air intake plumbing to the air box again too. |

Well, suppose I dragged this on long enough....
Here's the last shot of the new Mast valve covers mocked-up on the engine. Was surprised how well they match the Holley intake already, so maybe we could just do a clear powder coat - have to see I guess since the intake tubing needs to be done as well. Really like the look of these though & the new position of the coil packs. Don't worry to much about the heat - the headers are stainless steel & will be fully ceramic coated just like the rest of the exhaust will be!!! |

I'm really anxious to see it all together in there - fuel rails, intake tubing, new headers, throttle body, etc. Hopefully the injectors & pig tails will make it in next week. Also he's waiting for more aluminum tubing to make it there. Know Keven will probably fit the Kooks headers this coming week, so hoping there won't be any fitment issues with them... |

Well, the mid-length headers in that pic are the ones I got from Street & Performance - we've now purchased a new set of stainless full length headers from Kooks that should go on this week.
Eventually the entire exhaust will get a black ceramic coating which should go well with the other black items under the hood & contrast the red block nicely!!! |

Well, Keven finally managed to get the ATI damper installed. Poor guy - his installer wasn't long enough & couldn't find the correct one locally, so he had to make an extension which broke 4 different times so he had to keep re-making it... Anyway, it's on now & think it looks GREAT!!!

Keven had ordered a set of headers from Kooks for the late model trucks - they arrived & to no surprise don't fit due to the narrower frame.... He called up Kooks & did some back & forth - they have a set of Trailblazer SS headers headed there now - the tuck in a lot closer & should work.
We'll see.... |

Looking like it's not gonna be a good week for progress at the shop... They have a few other commitments to put Keven on, so most likely not much will get done. Hoping he'll test fit those Trailblazer SS headers when they make it in!!! If they fit good, I'll be sure & share the news as I know how hard it is to find 4x4 headers for the LS swaps...
Mario's working on some cover plates for the fuel tank so he can have it media blasted this week. Hopefully I'll get some pics or news on that to share too! |

I feel us 4x4's are being left out in the cold when it comes to headers, i've been talking to my welding teacher about making some because he loves tig welding and we could fab them up but i just got a new welding job monday working 5-12hr days so.... i don't exactly have the time to do much but hopefully those fit for the sake of the 4x4s lol

Well, at least I got photographic proof that Keven is actually working on the truck... He takes out the inner fender wells & crawls up in there like a monkey!
Injectors came in & are installed now along with the fuel rail. He's still working on changing over the pig tails on the wiring for the older style injectors. Also got the cross-over tube between the rails completed. Ran into another issue with the Holley intake... Turns out that the MAP sensor mounting location is larger than the one used for my motor! Keven talked to Holley & all they basically told him was that it was for the LS3 style - no part numbers, no nothing... It's really starting to sound like Keven is one of the first to install this manifold on a late-model LS motor & tech support is scarce to say the least... Trailblazer SS headers didn't quite do the trick, but he's thinking he can modify a few things to make them work out. I am sending him a link to a company that makes a do-it-yourself mock-up kit to which they build custom headers off of. Figure the labor & hassle alone would make it worth while to save all these headaches! |

Well, here's a slightly fuzzy shot of the engine bay as it's sitting right now. As you can see, the fuel rails & injectors are on there - makes the intake look just a bit shorter thankfully!
Keven finally got the correct MAP sensor too as you can see in the pic, so that's one more hurdle crossed! |
