Been through this entire thread refining the contents of this 71 Cheyenne's SPID but am having trouble with some of the suffixes. I think I'm doing pretty good with what I am working with; the tire suffixes are very hard to read and the ammeter-oil-temp I'm not sure on the suffix either. Would the suffix indicate a tach cluster or is the tach alway listed separately? Any help or expert knowledge here would be greatly appreciated before I have this reproduced.

I purchased this in a CL lot buy, the seller said this was the best piece. My question is, was there a LS9 350 offered in a K20 with a 4 speed? Was there ever a LS9 small block 350 option then? Thanks in advance!

Re: SPID Picture thread?
Yes sir, LS9 was the option code for a 350 4 bbl engine in a 1972 truck.

Re: SPID Picture thread?
Didn't look at the one above first, it has it but with more letters, all the research I have seen with an LS9 are the 1998 and newer engines.

Still the winner for the least amount of options. Negative 1.

For example: The LS6 that I know and love was a 1970 450HP 454 big block. I was on a powertrain road trip where the pickups were equipped with GenIII LS6 small block engines. They almost kicked me off the trip when I referred to them as a "weenie small block". K |

Re: SPID Picture thread?
That truck is just too much! I wonder about that D32 Option with LH in the description. I know D32 is the "RH" mirror option and the LH mirror is standard. I've seen where members have had shorter mirrors than others is what makes me curious. We always figured someone shortened them.

The type on your truck are what were standard, but in '67 only the driver side was standard. Your truck has the optional passenger side. The original ones were painted and there are chrome and stainless replacements. I'm wondering if the factory offered two lengths in this style mirror or did they just call these "short mirrors"? There are RPO DG6 and DG7 which are short passenger and driver side mirrors. There is RPO DG8 which I think is the same mirror both sides. THEN.... there is RPO DG9! Want to guess what that is? LONG passenger side mirror. I wonder what's what. I was thinking these could be larger truck codes, but then there are the DH series of mirror codes. There is DH1 which has the same description of DG9. DH2 is long driver side and DH3 is long mirror both sides. Different codes for same descriptions, long/short, I dunno. Codes cover all trucks. I guess this is a topic for a new thread. |
