About a 1/4" - that's why Keven has the tailgate back on so he can verify the clearances & all that. He's final welding it all up now.

What's the ride height for your daughters truck? Are you going to paint it to "coordinate" with your 77CC?

Her truck is getting a 3/4 static drop. It'll get painted flat black with orangish/red pin stripes to match the GMC trim & eventual wheel color. She wants a black leather interior with orangish/red stitching.

I've asked Keven to look into smoothing the welds on the front push bar as well beveling the plates to better match the look of the new rear bumper. Also maybe the welds on the step tubes where they meet the rock slider rails. He's got that bumper looking so smooth it would suck for the rest not to match...

He should have the bumper final welded up & hopefully figure out the recessed box for the hidden quick connects.

Their end of the project is close to being done really... Still have to add some lift to the rear do it isn't "squatting", finish the ash tray switch panel, have the shifter arm's fab'd up & some other odds & ends but should be able to knock it out before the Jeep Jamboree coming up!

Of course then the whole process kinda starts all over again as Mario tears the truck right back apart....

Know it'll be worth it when it's done, but will be glad when I reach the end of this long & winding road!!!

Found this pic on my Wife's Facebook page - didn't even know she took it... Is one of my favorite's though!!!

Should have some additional pics of my rear bumper this week - not sure what else they'll get done on it. Mario's itching to get a hold of the truck that's for sure!!!

Hmm, well - after welding up most of the bumper & re-mounting it looks like the shackle mounts are now going to touch the tailgate - figures....

:waah:

We're going to cut the tops off of them & make it flush with the top of the bumper rather than lowering the bumper itself - I'd prefer it stay tucked up nicely.

The far shackle mount in the pic is the real one - the front one is just a mock-up piece from before that he cut off to check the look.

As you can see he pretty much has the recessed box fabricated - he had taken off the folding license mount just before he snapped the pic, so you can't see it on there yet...

Thinking of changing over from my Skyjacker shocks to some Bilstein 5160's like this. Trevor's going to check clearance's & let me know if it's even possible, so we'll see.

If not those, the 5100/5125 or 5150s, they are a HUGE improvement over the "white" shocks. It was a night and day difference when I went from the original Fabtech shocks, that were still "good" to my Bilstein 5150s up front and 5125s in the rear.

Yeah, if I'm gonna upgrade yet again, I'd really like to have a remote or piggyback reservoir. Not gonna off road this thing hard, but do really prefer the appearance & ride quality improvement.

Looked at the pricing on them too & it really isn't all that bad considering...

Here's the final product (sans powder coat) of my new rear bumper!!! Keven did an AMAZING job on it & it'll take a heck of a lot to hurt this thing - betting the frame horns will buckle first!

It really matches to look of the front push bar perfectly - wasn't quite sure until I saw it final welded, but the seams are done really well just like it & it gives it a nice look!

Here's a close up of the pocket behind the license plate. It'll fold up & expose the quick connects for the jumper cables & air chuck which'll be nice!

Look at the solid welds on this thing - man that looks good!!!! :metal:

Yeah, it is beautiful as-is!!! All my exterior items though are getting a semi-gloss black powder coat finish, so this will too. It'll look great still!!!

Looking great man! I'm anxious to see Mario's work. Have a look on page 47 where you show your battery wiring. I'd be a little concerned with that positive battery terminal on the top being so close to the hold down. A stray 1/4-20 nut gets under there......:devil:

There's a lot of wiring clean-up & additional securing/protecting that needs to be done during final assembly - everything is in rough form at the moment, so some things aren't set-up like they will be when it's all said & done. I pointed out several areas of hoses & wiring similar to that while I was there.

Even my radiator hoses & intake boots are just mock-up pieces - will have custom silicone versions made when it's all said & done. Mario will be tearing all this back apart & during re-assembly making sure it's all clean, neat & safe I assure ya!

One more shot of the bumper by another guy at the shop. Still some grinding & smoothing to go, but the actual fab work is all done. Should have some pics of it all bolted back up next week with the LED lights in & all that.

Keven's still getting "bounced around" a few projects there in the shop, so he hasn't been getting any solid time in on my truck this week yet... He did however manage to get most of the parts installed onto the bumper, just still has to mount the bumper to the truck & then wire everything up.

Here you can see the flip up license plate, the trailer connector & of course the LED back-up (tailgater) light.

Here's the back-up camera set-up we ended up using. I think it looks really slick & a whole lot better than the other one... Can't wait to see the little image pop-up in my rear view mirror!!!

If you can't mount the piggyback reservior shocks, have Trevor order up the Bilstein 5125's...my crew cab rides so nice on them with the 6" lift...I love your rear bumper, I feel bad for the first Prius to tangle with it!

Yeah, I'm still waiting to hear back from Trevor on the whole shock issue - one way or another I'm fairly certain that we're going to be upgrading the shocks before it's all said & done. Am hoping for the separate reservoir shocks, but still not sure they'll work on the front locations.

Fairly certain that bumper would make short work of any Prius's that come in contact with it.... Lol
