Re: 1977 Chevy K30 Crew Cab Build
The renderings were done by Ryan Curtis of SIN-Customs - not by me. He did a rendering of my previous 79 C-10 & really love his work. I had to get the idea in my head down on paper so I could see if it all worked & also so the people working on it had the same direction to follow. His website is www.sincustoms.com/ if you'd like to contact him or check out his other work.

Since we're on the topic - here's the rendering Ryan did for my 79 Big-10. Never ended up building this one as I really wanted to go with the 4x4 crew cab so it was more useful. Enjoy!

Re: 1977 Chevy K30 Crew Cab Build
nice, thanks!
I am not going to use professional renderings. I thought you did it yourself :-) I already found a Google Sketchup model of my car. I am gonna try some on that 2nite! http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehou...21&prevstart=0 and this one http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehou...b2&prevstart=0 |

Here's a pic of the pedal set-up Trevor pulled from that 85 1-ton truck just prior to heading out for powder coat. These should be back by Monday evening - hopefully along with the rear axle - and then he'll send me more pics once they're all installed. So freaking ready for this whole clutch fiasco to be over & done with....

Here's a shot of the firewall openings they cut for the clutch master cylinder. Don't mind the general appearance of it right now - they still have to clean, smooth & repaint the firewall when it gets to the body stage. Also, all that old wiring is going the way of the Dodo bird since I bought an entire new Painless harness along with their PowerBraid kit.

Re: 1977 Chevy K30 Crew Cab Build
that is a killer rendering above man!! i would of loved to seen that truck on the roads!
|
Re: 1977 Chevy K30 Crew Cab Build
Thanks man, he's a great artist & really captured the vision I had of it. Would'a been a killer truck, but would'a also been so nice I wouldn't have wanted to use it daily & never could'a fit my whole family in there & gone to the lake or anything.... My crew cab will do all of that & more - so it'll end up best for me.

Uggg... I absolutely HATE the weekends over here!!! Nothing getting done to the truck, hardly get emails & worst of all it's just another work day for us... Oh well!
Trevor did find a filler neck mount at the pick-a-part this weekend so that's a plus! A little "worn", but nothing that can't be cleaned up to look as good as new before installing! Filler neck install is still not 100% complete, but hopefully this gets us one step closer! Also keeping my fingers crossed that the new motor & radiator make it in this week finally!!! |

Here's some shots of my old '79 Big-10. It's the one that the rendering above was made for. It had a factory 454/TH400 combo with a 12-bolt posi rear end. Would'a been sweet once all fixed up & lowered down but wasn't meant to be I guess... :waah:
I did do the MSD ignition upgrade to it before selling it my friend & had bought a TON of parts for the project already... This is the truck that the rendering of the lowered grey truck shown previously was based on. |

Re: 1977 Chevy K30 Crew Cab Build
Great news from the truck front - the new Mast Motorsports engine arrived late today at the shop!!!! They'll be cracking open the crate tomorrow morning & should get me some pics by the evening! Still no sign of the Ron Davis radiator, but hopefully soon... Axle & other parts should be back from the powder coater tomorrow as well, so hopefully they'll be pics of those too!

Re: 1977 Chevy K30 Crew Cab Build
Yeah, on that project's plan I wasn't looking for ANY chrome!!! Would'a been a really sick look too! With my current project it's a nice mix - chrome, semi-gloss black, white paint w/ semi-gloss rally stripes & red striping. Still not 100% on how the paint will turn out as far as the striping & all, but I'll get it locked down once the painters are all on board.

Re: 1977 Chevy K30 Crew Cab Build
