Huge relief today...
After working the 4 parts trucks into one, I was fairly nervous about how the doors where going to line up, tried em last year but that was a mess due to the lack of body mounts. Tried the doors again after welding up the 'a' pillars and was really hoping for the best. I'm happy to report they fit pretty damn good for the initial test fit. :metal: Party on, the hard work is now complete. :ennyd: |
Re: Little Body Work on the Blazer/Tub
This is the tub that's up for sale, right?

Thought we went over that already... J/K - yeah, that's the one. Gotta order a pass. side inner kick panel, then it's primer time. I think I'll offer it up with an engine, tranny & t-case installed too. |

Nice work!
Man that thing is looking great! |
Re: Little Body Work on the Blazer/Tub
dang Kurt, you're kicking ass on this one!
ya know after the copper one is gone, and the orange one is built you'll have to find another 2 or 3 to work on! :haha: |

Naw...done building blazers for awhile after the orange one is finished. All the recent building time that's been sunk into these two will later be used as "driving time"!! I think you need the brown tub for making more blazer parts to sell us. :flagw: |

Passengers side inner kick panel ordered...waiting for that.
Got the drivers floor seam done along with the firewall brace and finished up the drivers side lower 'a' pillar connection. Got tired of welding/grinding, so I goofed around with a little bit of mud wanting to see if the all the fuss was paying off. ;) Went a few steps ahead of the 'normal progress steps' but it feels good to see at least that section in primer. |

There's always a place to park here. ;) Thanks for the words. Picked up a fresh supply of epoxy primer yesterday. It really feels good to have this coming together like it is, after four years I'd almost given up. A couple before/after pics. |
Re: Little Body Work on the Blazer/Tub
VT, along the lines of the welding your doing. Are you using Gas? What flow rate do you use for the gas? CUft/HR? I just upgraded from flux wire to gas and I'm experimenting with the settings and would like to know if I'm in the ball park. I know it all depends on the type of welder, wire feed speed etc. I'm using a HF Chicago MIG. Be interesting to know what others are doing.
Just some general info on what works for you would be great, Thanks |
