The short and long wires come off Camaro and truck applications. The coil output connector is closer to the plugs one of the applications, I forget which.

Ive got clearance now but I plan to get full length headers eventually so I probably wont modify these. Ive got some special gaskets Ive used in the past of three bolt header flanges with no issues. I just hafta get my buddy to order me a set for these.

The truck wires are longer.I knew this but I just wasnt paying attention when I ordered them.

Thanks. There was a lot of rust on passenger side so I didn't do a lot of prep, pretty much just hit it with soap and water and scrub brush, then three cans of rust converter, then gloss black roll bar paint on frame and flat black everywhere else. It won't last but somewhere down the road it's all going to be properly redone with the rest of the truck anyway. I just didn't want to put the new engine in a nasty engine bay.

Also got a set of manual window doors from an 86 model. all the window and vent window seals were in good shape. So were the regulators, door handles, and pretty much everything else except the window channels plus the windows are already tinted...both complete doors for $75!!!! I just bought them for the seals and hardware and to keep from having to reseal my vent windows but the driver door is perfect and passenger door only has a couple rust spots on the bottom so these may end up being my new doors!!

Re: Project "Steppin Wolf" LS swap

is there anything that would stop me from putting these 86 doors straight onto my 74 cab? Also, when I buy the new door seals that go on top of the doors, does it matter if I get the 73-80 or the 81-87? Other than the obviously thinner glass(weight reduction, lol) and the different vent windows, what is the difference between these doors and my 74 doors?

Re: Project "Steppin Wolf" LS swap

Ok guys, how do I tell if these are original gm doors or repros? if they're repros then itll be cheaper and easier to buy another new set and transfer hardware and glass but if they're genuine gm Id like to spend the extra time and money to fix them up and use them.

not sure on the doors my friend, unless there is a gm sticker, or gm part number stamped on them somewhere.

good progress!

Thank you but I feel like I keep getting sidetracked from the actual swap by eBay and Craigslist deals. Lol. I need to focus on getting her running again! I think I'm gonna stick these doors in the shed for now so I can focus on the job at hand. :mm::lol:

Does anyone know if I can bolt on 81-87 master cylinder on without modification? The aluminum and plastic one. They're only $32 new and mine is rusted out bad... I got crap floating in my fluid and the chrome lid leaks too. I'd just like to upgrade.

Hopefully will have updates soon. Been working long hours plus my hood is just sitting on there and I've got nobody to help me take it off so I can work on engine lol. Gonna try to get the hinges painted and put on tonight so I'll be able to get some stuff reinstalled this weekend..... Maybe. :/

Gonna get a little more done in the morning then gonna be outta town till sunday night. Im hoping to take the bed off sunday night and push the truck into my garage so I can start mocking up the blazer tank swap and fuel lines as well as make up my transmission lines. Really starting to feel good about this now.

You need to take those headers up to M&R Performance Coatings up in Kodak and get them ceramic coated. They do a perfect job and not to far away from us. Cause those eBay chrome headers will blue on you in about a week. Unless you like that motorcycle pipe blue look. Also idk what part of town you live in east or west but if you ever need a hand let me know I will come over and help you out. Got to help out a fellow c10 lover.

They're not chrome brother, they're polished stainless steel. ;) they're also temporary. But thanks anyway. Somewhere down the line I'll be getting some better flowing full length headers with 3" collectors and 1 7/8 primaries. When I decide on my full length headers in the future, if they end up not being stainless I'll definately check that place out.
