lowerd my truck !!! but...
so i got all my new brakes and everything installed. i used 2 1/2 drop spindals and 4" drop coils in front i haven got to the rear yet
my problem is that the inner fender well sits on the front tires. what should i do? just take the fender wells out ?? http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...tm68/015-4.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...tm68/017-5.jpg |
Re: lowerd my truck !!! but...
Take em out & make some custom ones
If you run with them out, it makes it real dirty under the hood & you run the risk of denting your hood with a rock |
Re: lowerd my truck !!! but...

Re: lowerd my truck !!! but...
4" drop springs on the front sounds like a LOT to me ... I think you're gonna have bigger issues with alignment and rubbing the outer fender when you turn than you are those inner fenders.

TSC (Tractor Supply ) Has a Line of Fenders if you have one around your area............

Re: lowerd my truck !!! but...
Is there a reason that you're not just running bags? I think with the 4" springs and 2.5" spindles you are running pretty low in the front end.

Re: lowerd my truck !!! but...
Unless you're not mentioning something else, that amount of front spring drop won't work on these trucks. You can get by with 3" and spindles, but not as a daily driver going up driveways and such. 2" & 2 1/2" spindles is about all you want as a dd.

Re: lowerd my truck !!! but...
I just hope you don't end up putting out money for new inner's, or trailer fenders, and end up bottoming them out. I love the setup, and would love to see a side profile, but I know that if you live in Missouri.... good luck!

Re: lowerd my truck !!! but...
I'm guessing you'll be going to the 3'' springs for alignment reasons like Shane said, but whatever you do post a side view of it, I bet it looks pretty wicked.

i think before i do anything with the fenders i will try a set of 2" springs. as for a side pic, well its sitting on the tires so i cant get it out of the garage. haha sorry guys. but there are a few more pics in my build thread and i will be posting more there too. |
Re: lowerd my truck !!! but...

Re: lowerd my truck !!! but...
I see those 20in on front. I have the same dropped spindles and 3 inch coils (5/7 drop) and the tires are not that close to the top of the fender. Of course their 255/60/15 on front. It rides great by the way.
Guess I better stick to 18s when the time comes... Sorry it won't let me load the pics anymore... says they're now too big (you can look at my previous posts to see my truck) |

I used 2 1/2" ds and a 1" drop spring and my tires rub if I hit much of a bump. How tall is your wheel/tire combo, and where did you buy the springs and spindles? I think my tires are 29" tall, and they are tucked up inside the fender. I don't think yours looks that much lower than mine. I think I ended up with alot more than the intended 3 1/2" drop. Here's a before and after with the same height tires. Looks like I got more like 5 or 6" to me. Did you expect your drop to put your truck as low as it is, or did it end up lower than you expected?
