jay-dawg 07-03-2002 04:42 PM

Cool burb!

My parents made me ride from Cali to Texas one summer, with only one of those window coolers. You fill it with water, and it blows semi-cool air on you. Even if it works, it doesn't work.

PushinPebbles 07-03-2002 05:08 PM

it looks cool though......................I've seen one one a 53 chevy pick up?!?!?!.............it had hydros and wire wheels......................that burb is awesome............i dont care for the interior though.........................Jack

jay-dawg 07-03-2002 05:12 PM

yeah interior needs help. here is a pic and the owners .02

"yes, if you're drunk and look at the headliner for too long, you'll hurl..."

Longhorn Man 07-03-2002 05:14 PM

No my style, but definatly good work though.
The swamp coolers were dealer things. On VWs, it was a common thing.

Hey man I have a friend that has a 63 VW and he is looking for one of those cool cans;)

If you have another let me know what you want for it.

BTW That burb is TIGHT!

Alexis 07-03-2002 05:25 PM

man bagged burd just look to cool

Twin67s 07-03-2002 05:49 PM

Ha! Same pattern as my sofa.

Danny69' 07-03-2002 06:40 PM

Swamp Coolers are pretty cool little gadgets. We've got a set for the 55' Ford Victoria we are pro streeting. Really sets it off. You get a lot of questions too.

paintpyro 07-03-2002 06:55 PM

Twin67s, welcome to the board, what part of CA are you from?

Twin67s 07-03-2002 08:16 PM

Thanks! I live in unincorpirated Sonoma County.:flag:

LeRoy 07-03-2002 08:28 PM

Looks like he's using an old AC pump for his air compressor. I like the chrome addition. I know, I've got one around here somewhere. That interior makes me have acid flashbacks

BADA$$69 07-03-2002 11:11 PM

Thats bad as hell! Don't care for the int. though.

Do you know this guy? I'm interested to see what kind of front end is under that burb. I thought it was a vette at first, then realized it wasn't vette upper arms. But the spindles look like truck spindles. Also, i noticed the new mastercylinder, i'm trying to do the same thing, do you know what thats off of? One more question whats the thing in the engine compartment on the drivers side???

Really trick looking burb.

that burb is owned by bill dermond of airlift. the truck has drop spindles and airlifts own front air bag kit of course, however their kits combined with spindles dont get you nearly that low, bill has modified both upper and lower control arms on that beast.

jay-dawg 07-04-2002 05:50 AM

Here's the link to the burb. He explains what he has in it:

Tim Christian 07-04-2002 07:48 AM

One of the oldtimers correct me if I am wrong but Bill Dermond of airlift use to come on the board some.:D

gmc-rob 07-04-2002 10:50 AM

How do those cooler work, they keep the nos cool but I thought nos needed to be kept from freezing?? I know this sounds like a stupid question. ROB

70 Jimmy 07-04-2002 11:37 AM

NOS = New Old Stock in this case, not Nitros Oxide System. The 55-58 steering wheel is nice, hey I like that interior, it screams......well, IT SCREAMS!

wild@work 07-04-2002 02:23 PM

The name of the truck is " The Voodoo Surf Wagon" This truck is the reason I bought my Panel, I hope to do a panel version of it..tone down the interior though...

I'd paint that black with yellow flames, and stick a 6:71 blower through the hood, that would be cool.

chevyman 68 C/10 07-04-2002 08:24 PM

Wow makes me want to buy a 68 burb I have been eyeing for a while. But too many projects now.

Brad 07-09-2002 02:15 PM

Any idea on what he's using for a master cyl and booster??

71402BB 07-09-2002 06:10 PM

Ya that burb is badass! I have it saved as my wall paper (I got it from shev one nite on chat) I love those swamp coolers allways thought they looked cool! (no pun intended) Hey where can you buy those anyway? Anyone have a used one they want to sell? If so e-mail me!

68C10 07-09-2002 09:15 PM

Tim Christian --- YOU are one of the oldtimers on this board. I remember him too.

weasel29gm 07-09-2002 10:24 PM

sub4rvr 07-09-2002 11:12 PM

I already have the surf boards for mine. The wife wants to make it a surf wagon also, but it won't look that cool !!

white68chevy 07-10-2002 01:23 AM

i would also like to know what that master cylinder is out of

Hooter 07-10-2002 01:43 AM

Looks like a lot of stuff borowed off a 55 chevy! The interior makes me want to toss my cookies (almost) i like the air bags though might be putting some on the monte

72futuresweet2wd 07-11-2002 01:00 PM

Sweet Burb that window cooler looks like some sort of "Road Rage-Moron Elimination Device" Can it launch large round objects at people driving 45 in the passing lane. If it does I want 2 for each vehicle I own one set would need to be back pack mounted for the bike though.
