Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
that is one crazy truck too busy for me but it does look in good shape if you get past the stacks and lights.
i dig the mud flap girl door pannels. |
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
Hey, I like it!!! And then I would add a set of "longhorns" on the top of the hood...
|
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
JC Whitney overload!
What is a 267 V8??? |
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
My wife would kill me if that was parked in the drive!
I, too have never heard of a 267:confused: |

Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
Take all the JC Whitney add ons off and it might be worth $1000. I dunno if I'd want the 267 V-8. How hard would it be to find parts for that.
|
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
I love the "very rare 267 V-8 engine, not original to the truck".
I guess that makes it worth more!! |
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
Chrome ladies on the door panels, Thats better than on the mud flaps.
|
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
Each time I look at this truck I see more JC Whitney products. But where are the fog lights on top of the bumper? And the one's on the rear bumper?
|
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
I'm speechless.
|
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
from what understand my grampa use to drink too!
|
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
Wow! I was thinking of going with the same theme on my next truck!
The interior is a little tacky for my taste however, Im going with purple and white shag carpet finished off with black velvet Elvis door panels  |

|
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
1) I love the door panels!!! I know my girl would dig them as well!!
2) Finally a way to run stacks with out cutting your bed cover! The body of the truck actually doesnt look bad... |

And the 267 was put in mid and small size cars a few years like the short lived Monza and I believe some Malibus had them. V8 engine with better mpg for those who just had to have a V8. |
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't the 267 first available in the Monza's? I know that the '80 Malibu my wife had when we got married had one in it. But I'm thinkin' that the Monza's were the first GM cars to get it. Probably as scarce as a 252 Buick V-6, but not as scarce as the variations of GM Diesels, like the diesel V-6 in the late 70's/early 80's Olds Cutlasses. Anybody seen one of those, lately?
I think Grampaw was just doin' what he knew to do, livin' in the south part of Tennessee. Cars was for runnin' 'shine. "Gonna gussy up the pickup, Maw." Boog....yeah, even to imagine Rosie in a G-string is makin' it difficult to keep my oats down, this morning. |

That thing is wild!
|
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
With the add ons cheapens the value, but this could be a diamond in the rough? Its no worse than some I've seen.
|
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
So, it also runs without an air cleaner, if you look at the engine pictures it looks like the alternator and fan are spinning. Something had to go for all that chrome.
|
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
Love the stove pipes...is that even legal?
|
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
About 1980, in my hometown, the driver of that would have been stereotyped as a Goat Roper:lol:, they did all the right stuff to that to get it there.
|
Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
A 267 had a 3.50 bore & 350 (3.48) stroke. IIRC, Monzas had 262s, which had a 3.671 bore and 3.10 stroke. IMO the 267 was a better engine, it made decent torque down low as it is a square motor.

Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!
Give me that truck and a Lime Green Leisure Suit and I'll have all the women!
