It's not a real garage or shop unless there is grinding dust & overspray on everything!

Re: Garages from a dream

i wouldnt mind parking my truck in a couple of those garages

while it drips oil and power steering fluid on the floor, lol

Re: Garages from a dream

Given unlimited funds... I don't think my garage would look like any of those. Those were places to show guests how much you spent on your cars.. lol

A garage is a playroom to me.... it has to be able to take it if I play rough. A dream garage to me would probably look more like Jesse James' "Monstrer Garage" set.. well equiped and roomy, but rough around the edges.

Thgere is a book called "Dream Garages" that has some garages like those and many nicer than my home.I guess anything is possible if you have a water cooled checkbook.

It is amazing how many of those garages have a bar. Mine just has a fridge... the bar never gets used as you drink the beer while you work on the big girl... not stand around.

My dream garage is an old warehouse filled with every tool I could ever imagine. Those are all too pretty for me :D

Naw man. I think it is just wet from cleaning up that day. My floor is not nice enough to do any coatings on. I am always cleaning the garage.:metal:

If you really want to get your mind blown... check out the Garage Gallery in The Forum here:

The Garage Journal

Old warehouses, dealerships, gas stations turned into garages... and even custom built from scratch garages. Lots of pics!

A garage is a place to work om your vehicle and a show room is for displaying your vehicle.

Those are very nice but I'm not sure I would know what to do with myself in such a clean environment.

Get drunk (or not) and play silly buggers with one of those toys... just two things that come straight to mind - I can see big black tyre marks across those squeaky clean floors already

Thank you. I had forgotten about that site. Awesome stuff.
I just wish I could use my 3 car garage as a garage, not a storage unit.

I just had a read of the forum on that Garage Journal site... wow they are not nice people.
I only browsed through one thread but they were not PG rated and not at all nice... picking fights and putting each other down.

I like it here where it is safe to play.

Whatta ya expect from a bunch of alpha males with garages?

That is how men act around each other... for some reason.

Which is why I always laugh when I hear a woman say she wants to be treated like a man... and I always say: no, you don't.

I have NEVER wanted to be treated like a man and I have never asked for equal rights.

I have only ever wanted to be treated like a Goddess and I only want the pick of the best rights.

The question is why do men tolerate being spoken to like that?

Because women got laws passed that make it a pain in the ass to fight each other anymore.

I personally don't put up with it, because I generally can't be around the uber males for very long...

... but most folks in the States these days have no backbone or it is located in their wife's purse.

Those are not garages, no work is performed within them. I would call em showrooms.

Re: Garages from a dream

Ahhh, on a hot summer day I can actually hear the hypoid gear oil dripping out of my Eaton and transmission/transfercase onto that fancy floor. At least the oil would be easy to wipe up...

People like that with garages or rather show rooms such as these don't actually do anything to their cars/trucks, they just dust them off and occasionally drive them around the block. Then just dream that they actually had anything to do with getting them to the way they are, while drinking their ten dollar bottle of micro brew beer while puffing on a cheap cigar they claim to be Cuban. Then at the same time talking like they actually know something about what they own...

Sorry if I sound judgmental, just that I do know people like that with places like this...

well then we can transplant it at my new house and you can build yourself a bigger one then:lol:.

Re: Garages from a dream

I'd like to build (or buy) a big shop building and put a little Fonzie-type apartment at one end or upstairs. Like those garage-condo deals on Ryan's site.

Trouble is, the bank won't loan money for something like that right now. They told me to qualify for a residential mortgage loan, it has to be a residential structure.

Anybody know a way to get around that, except for being WAY more liquid than I'll probably ever be? Not having sufficent shop space is killing me.

Re: Garages from a dream

Buy an acre or two out in the boonies and pull an agricultural permit for a barn. Don't dress it out till after the inspector signs off your final. Cheapest way to go.

Re: Garages from a dream

and then keep it looking all agricultural on the outside for when the tax assessor comes by.

Garage Journal.......Rich people just showin off. I doubt if any of them has ever risked breaking a nail by actually working on any of those rides! As for me, I'd rather drink a few brews and go leave some very long and very wide parallel black marks on a stretch of pavement with the rides we built!:metal::metal::metal:
