Re: Junkyarding
sweet pics! I'd love to have that 69-70 grill. I need to look around here at the old yards to see if I could find anything

Re: Junkyarding
And this was another about 20 minutes from the other two:

The area in the first pictures used to be all old stuff. There was a 66 Impala SS, Cosworth Vega, 64, 65, 65, 69 442's, couple other olds, 67 GS400, old 5 window, and a bunch of 67-72 trucks and a suburban. I have pictures somewhere. Most were beat and rusty, a few could be restored, or a couple could be made into one |

Nice pics! Looks like there are a lot of good parts still there!
|
Re: Junkyarding
How bad was that 71-2 chevelle in the last yard?
|
Re: Junkyarding
[QUOTE=JimmyFloyd;4044900]The one on the pile was trash. the one on the truck wasn't bad. The 67/68 one was ok, but had a rot spot on the top left, and two holes near the bottom of the face. Most of the sheet metal wasn't good.[/QUOT
the one on the truck is the one I was thinking about. ;):metal: |
Re: Junkyarding
If I recall it was a Drag car, and has a cage in it. I have older pictures of it somewhere I can see if I can dig up
|
Re: Junkyarding
Will they sell complete cars?
|
Re: Junkyarding
The first and last might, but not 100% sure. I know I have seen a whole 86 442 get sold out of the first, and was told with the old stuff in the second they might sell some of them.

Re: Junkyarding
Went to my local yard today and swung up in their Big Truck Section. Got a ton of pictures. This yard I can go pull parts each week if someone sees something they have to have. I can see it from where I work :-D

Re: Junkyarding
Wow lots of cool pics, thanks for sharing.
BTW if u come across any early "flat nose" chevy vans, please keep me in mind. Thanks. Scott |
Re: Junkyarding
Do you know what the deal is with that Fedex Sprinter? Is it being scrapped too?
|
Re: Junkyarding
Flat Nose Chevy Vans... This Orange one isn't one, is it?
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/k...k/100_4049.jpg And yes, the Sprinter is there to pull parts off of. Might be able to get the whole thing, but I doubt it. may have been more than one there as well, can't remember. |
Re: Junkyarding
Do you know if that sprinter said FedEx Express or Fedx Ground on it? Purple and orange or purple and green?
|
Re: Junkyarding
Haha. Didn't get a picture directly of it, but how's this:

Re: Junkyarding
Nice, looks like your yard grows some ditch weed too!
|
Re: Junkyarding
Thats a Ford, but thanks for pointing it out.
|
Re: Junkyarding
Good stuff! I used to go to a yard down the road from my house as a kid. Loved walkin around and imagining all the possibilities. Those Lancia Appia Vignale's are cool!
|
Re: Junkyarding
that poor 54 under that pile!!!. I love junk yarding, Did you happen to pull any of those cablights on teh c-50`s? I need one of the firefighter hat style ones
|
Re: Junkyarding
Not yet, but I plan to pull all the good ones. The yellow bucket has a later syle tear drop ones put over the round holes in the roof.
and yes, the 54 made me sad too. |
Re: Junkyarding
Ok, here are some of the pictures from the General population at my local yard:

Re: Junkyarding
Whoever put that mid 80's Monte Carlo SS in there NEEDS to be SPANKED!! I've always wanted one of those! Hate to see one end up like that! ...Joe

Re: Junkyarding
That's the 5th monte I have seen in that yard in the last 6 years. They had an aerocoupe when I first went there.

Re: Junkyarding
So many good parts left out there waiting for somebody to come along and take them home! That '66 door IS in great shape! Hard to find one like that now. Bet somebody on this board could use it! ...Joe
|
Re: Junkyarding
Id love to have that malibu or chevelle...
|
Re: Junkyarding
Any chance you would find out what they want for the 60's c60 grill? I wouls love to put that on my 66
|
Re: Junkyarding
I can find out. How do you get it off? I'm guessing it'll be around $75-150 depending on
what they value it as. They might charge differently since it's in the Big Trucks section. |
Re: Junkyarding
should be three bolt each side inside the fender well. at least on a c10.
|
Re: Junkyarding
I'm in need of a set of seat belts for a 66, if u could check to see if any of those 64-66 trucks have a set it would be most appreciated.
Thanks. Scott |
Re: Junkyarding
I think they do, I will check this week.
|
Re: Junkyarding
Those are awesome pics man. Thanks for sharing.
There are a few cars in there that look like they are still in pretty good shape. Funny how one persons trash is another persons treasure. The car market has influenced a lot of it too. Some cars it's easy to find parts for cheap, and others it is not. So to some it's cheaper to scrap it then to fix it. It's a shame, but works out good for the few that go there looking for parts. |

I got the Cab Lights, fireman style. There is a For Sale ad in 67-72 trucks for them. I noticed the door on the 60's C50 has some bondo by the mirror area, but the underside is really clean. I can get it for $75 plus shipping, but got to let me know today or tomorrow. Should i grab the tow hooks from the fire truck and the wrecker? There are a couple other style tow hooks from those large trucks there too. |
Re: Junkyarding
great!! I look forward to your p.m.
|
Re: Junkyarding
I saw a DRW Dana 60 axle, rear tow hook (rare), other nice pieces... thanks for sharing..
any of those C-50 trucks have a vacuum gauge dash? pull them if so. |
