Post your snow pix!

I don't really wheel but I go hunting and if I'm having a slow day I'll usually stop and snap a few pics at a place.

Lets see your 4x4 in the snow

We had more snow in MD last year than I think I've ever seen. It's been colder this year,so far,but only one 2 incher and a dusting.

Here's my '72 GMC last February (in the snow):

Re: Post your snow pix!

If anything Special-K is understating last year... I was plowing my drive way last year. It got to the point I simply ran out of places to wedge the the snow... And my drive way isn't small by any means. Worst part was when I fell asleep around 2AM, and woke up at 7AM... That was too long, and I got stuck because the snow was too deep. Before that I was going out every 2 hours to keep on top of it.

Jones, are those 285s on the dually? What lift do you have? I just put 285s on my k30, and they fit fine, but I am thinking about bringing the front up a bit.

255/85-16 bfg mud terrains with a 2 inch spacer between the duals. 4 inch skyjacker lift and 2 inch home made body lift on the cab.

Special K,
It is a 1974 Pinzgauer 6X6. Air cooled motor similiar to a VW, lockers on all 3 axles, 5 speed tranny, and a heater that sucks! We also have 2 4X4 pinz's that I used to use as feed wagons. One is broke down and the other still gets used occasionaly.
They are getting too expensive to repair and don't seem to hold up well to the ranch abuse, so I will eventually sell the two 4X4's and keep the 6X6.
It gets around very good in the deep snow.

I wondered if that was a "Pinz". You don't see the 6x6s. them buggers set up high with those portal axles.

Last year's small one,a 6 incher:

Yeah, it's been a while. Been busy, changed jobs. Spent weekends racing last spring and summer at the local 1/4mile oval working on a grand american modified. Lost the clutch on the K5 on the way to the track had to deal with that too. DirtyLarry and our buddy did most of the work to swap it out while I was at work on a saturday. This snow run was the first time I had put it to the test off road. It was like a different truck.

I've also come across a 5.3 that we removed from a customer's truck when we installed a 5.3ho crate. I've got some more parts to scrounge up before the swap commences. Larry's putting up a convincing argument to ditch the dump truck trans and go with a nv4500 when the 5.3 drops in. It would be ideal, but I'm going to have to dig for the parts.

We got another snow run planned in a month or so.. Should be a good run if we get more snow.

I so pissed because every time we got snow out here something was stopping me from driving in it. In this pic there was a good amount of snow but the engine was done and I spent 4 days working in the snow swapping out the engine.

I'm still hopping that we get some snow that will stick around for more than a day. The last snow we had was only around for a few hours, and it was late at night so I didn't want to piss off the neighbors. :waah:

Sounds like a good plan all around. And,I'm sure you'll get more snow (right?). We have dodged all but a few inches here or there so far. Last year was awesome. We got no Mid-Atlantic ice or freezing rain...which tonight it is supposed to be snow at first turning to sleet, then freezing rain, ending with just rain at just above freezing. YUCK! And people curse snow around here:crazy:. Well,I guess this is what you get for cursing snow.
Last year I was impressed with a snow before Christmas that dropped 18". Then in Feb. we got back to back 30"+ snows that reminded me of western mountain snows.

Here's pics from the 18"er. First on my road plowed:
