Finally got my truck back on the ground with the mild stage 2 dropmember. Pics are with the suspension aired out. Rear suspension is the mild c-notch kit from air ride tech. Im starting to feel the need to go just a little lower on the back. I will hopefully have the LS powertrain mocked up this weekend.

Just thought id post some pics of this kit so you can see where it sits.:metal:

very nice truck like the wheels, IMO if you are already thinking about lowering the rear more go ahead and do it now while you alre already working on the truck...

Nice choice on the wheels. I'm not sure about going lower on the back - how much more are you thinking? Looks pretty darn good as is.

Trucks looking great, but i too think the back should come down some more to level it out.

Looks good!

Good to see progress on your truck. You were talking about the LS when I picked up the tailgate. I was kind of thinking you may have lost interest or something. Then I saw alot of parts for sale, and thought Uh OH. Glad I was wrong:lol:

Keep up the good work... And post pics!

Re: 20/22 Boyd Vtwin & porterbuilt stage 2 suspension

Sure does look killer! I agree with leveling it out a little (even though it looks great as is)...if you don't want to work on the rear (suspension/bed mods), maybe just swapping to 22's in the front will raise it up enough to not have so much rake aired out.

Re: 20/22 Boyd Vtwin & porterbuilt stage 2 suspension

Looks awesome....

if it was 20's all around or 22's all around it would be more level.

Looks awesome, what are you running in the front, tubular arms and bags or stock control arms and bags?

Yes the wheels do have a bit of history to them.;) What i like most about them is that i havent seen them anywhere else!

Front suspension consists of a PB mild dropmember (no notching required), PB lower control arms, cpp uppers, SS7 bags and cpp modular spindles

I was able to mock up the motor today.

Yes all fbody accessories except the ac for now will be used. The alternator comes really close to the frame rail but it clears.

Dang! I was hoping you were gonna put the AC on... I want to see how much Im going to have to trim off for it to fit. You just decide to not have AC then?

I just decided to leave the ac out for now. Eventually will be added but I just want to get this project on the road now that finances are tight.

I do have the bracket and compressor. Ill go ahead and mock it up and get some pics this week to give you a look at the clearance while I have my motor in.

Just tried to do a little test fit with the fbody ac bracket and compressor and with a dropmember it will not fit. Something to consider when deciding on front accessories. Might work with a stock crossmember

Youve got to be kidding....:banghead: Like how far off from fitting is it?

You'll be able to get the bracket in but the compressor will not mount to it. The back of the compressor runs into the inner truss support on the dropmember. Its not going to fit

I just talked to Nate today, and I guess the alternator gets in the way of the steering linkage to the rack and pinion. Im not too excited about this. He said the F-body stuff will not work at all

There's a alternator relocation bracket that alot of turbo guys use on f-body cars. Ill probably go that route unless I come across an extra $2,500 for billet specialties top mount accessories
