My Coy's came today!
4 Attachment(s)
Woo Hoo! Can't wait to get tires in a couple days. After 8 months I have it driving and I will have spent all my $$$. When it gets warm enough, the last few bucks will half a**ed paint the bedsides faded hugger orange. Planning on driving the crap out of it this summer.

Re: My Coy's came today!
Nice hope they fit OK. Hope they got all the bugs worked out of them. You need tires though they are going to wear fast like that!;):chevy:

Re: My Coy's came today!
Those look great! I'm really fight the urge to put 20s on my truck.
|
Re: My Coy's came today!
What size tires are you planning to go with? How much is your truck dropped?
|
Re: My Coy's came today!
ECE 4/6 drop. Id like to remove the rake with blocks but gonna let the springs settle and get rolling stock sorted out before I mess with that. Probably end up with bags in the back.
Planning on 255/40 and 295/40 Toyo. Should have rubber on by this weekend. Ill report back on fitment. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: My Coy's came today!
We need a report no later than 6pm on Sunday, or you have to ship the wheels to my house .. ok ? :D
Is your truck C Notched? |
Re: My Coy's came today!
Best priced wheel in the market!!!
Congrats.... |
Re: My Coy's came today!
Ha ha! Can't make any promises CC. With 2 daughters, 3 dogs, and a wife I am often asked to delay my plans for theirs.
Yes, I did put a CPP notch in it. Swapped a short frame under a long box so as long as it was all apart figured I might as well do that and powder coat and be done with it. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: My Coy's came today!
Nice lookin wheels.
Congrats on the purchase. |
Re: My Coy's came today!

Thinking I might go polished on my black truck.
Just a Pchop. (Not a pro at it) |
Re: My Coy's came today!
CC I checked out your build. Love the GMC. Chrome or polished may have been an option for me if my truck was as nice as yours. Black would look killer with big polished 5 spokes.
|
Re: My Coy's came today!
Sweet! thanks for checking it out. I gave $2500 for that ole truck :D

Re: My Coy's came today!
Nice!

Re: My Coy's came today!

|
Re: My Coy's came today!

Re: My Coy's came today!
Update: Bolted bare wheels on both the front and rear last night.
FRONT: Minor fitment issue. The front center caps keep the wheels from sitting flush against the rotor/hub. I did not have any problems with the wheel going on with the center cap removed. Sorry no pix but it's the same issue as Frank had in this post. I'll probably do what he did. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=274552 REAR: Man the rear wheel lip is close on the inside. Maybe 1/2"? I won't be able to have much sidewall 'bulge'. I've seen alot of members have 295/40's on 20x10 Coy's so I am hopefull I'll be OK. |

Grinding the rotor will fix your problem, the weird thing is I have one set that needed the rotor ground and the other did not, I bought both sets used. The burb's just bolted on.

Re: My Coy's came today!
Do you have an early rear housing under it? If you measure from backing plate to backing plate, how wide is it? 55.5" or 57" ?

I don't have any at the time but may be something I will consider making again in the future. SPACERS CAPS |
Re: My Coy's came today!
I'm fairly certain it's the wider rear axle but I never actually measured it. Another clue is I don't think the wheels would tuck aired out (bags someday) if they stuck out another 3/4"

Re: My Coy's came today!
stomper, sorry it took so long to get back to you.
those were the problems I was thinking of. They said they were fixed. I guess not. I went with the Boss 383's wheels. No problems after they grinded the front hub just a little and 1/2" spacers on back for wheel well clearance.. http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/...illeaks025.jpg I also put 1/2" spacers on back and bought 10 new lug nuts for it that had a deeped shank. ;):chevy: http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/...illeaks030.jpg http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/...illeaks012.jpg |

FRONT: Ground the edge of the rotor/hub. No problem. Before Attachment 906920Attachment 906921 After Attachment 906922 REAR: I actually have a little more than an inch inside. ............and also here's where the outside of the lip lands inside the wheel well. Attachment 906923Attachment 906924 |
Re: My Coy's came today!
Here are my pictures hub grinded with tires mounted in above pictures above.
My back only rubbed when I would hit holes in the road. Hub grinded and painted. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...0/IMG_1216.JPG Before spacer. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/..._leaks_060.jpg After. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/..._leaks_063.jpg |

Just made my weekend deadline!
Before and After Attachment 909079Attachment 909080 Attachment 909085Attachment 909086 The rear tire bulge is only about 1/2" so the clearance concern I had on the inside rear is fine. The taller rear tires gave it more rake than I care for. I'm going to install 1-1/2" blocks to make it more to my liking. Will still be able to run the 15" rallys. Then I'll probably need bags to bump it back up when I have the rallys on. 255/40 front and 295/40 rear. My favorite shot Attachment 909092 |
