Mounted some new tires 35-12.5R15 BFG all terrains. Ended up cost me a grand total of $40 after I sold the truck they were mounted to(a toyota w/ blown head gasket).

Looks good jim. What sized tires and wheels did you put on the green truck. I have a K20 with a 4 inch lift, and would like my truck to look like yours does in the background.
Thanks
David

Truck in the background has a 4" rough country lift and bald 35/12.5R16.5 BFG mud terrains on 16.5x9.75 chrome mod rims.

griesel72 05-02-2004 12:03 AM

thanks, do you have any problem with the 35's you have on your GMC rubbing?
David

David, What I order and installed on my GMC were as follows: 2" heavy duty tuff country front springs and ORD 1/2 longer than stock shackles. In the rear a 2" taper block, tuff country add-a-leaf and removed the factory block. The truck has saggy butt syndrome. I measure the distance between the frame and top of the axle on the GMC and it's 12" on the green truck same measurement w/ 4" rough country springs: 12". So the Heavy duty tuff country 2" springs really netted me well over 3" because the shackles only added 1/4" lift. I'll let you know if they rub.

toddol1971 05-02-2004 11:49 AM

So you have a 2" lift with ord shackles & can fit 35 at's. Thats preety darn good a. Ive seen 4" lifts that sit just like yours. Sounds like tough country might be the way to go. Im still thinking about eaton detroit springs 3" lift. They'll even make the spring rate what ever i want. A bit pricey though.

Budweis, I bought a 67 long stepsid. It's apart in my garage now. waiting on bed strips and a the angle strips.

BurnoutNova 05-03-2004 11:24 PM

so jim whats going on with your 33's?

are they for sale? i'd buy em if 15" wheels will fit on my 3/4 ton (i'd need some rims i guess to)

JIMs70GMC 05-04-2004 07:07 AM

BN, you still have drums up front? If yes then the tires/wheels would fit. They are 8 lug 15x10 US wheel white wagon wheels. They are heavy, I don't know what the shipping would be and I'd have to send you some pics, they passed state inspection about 1 week ago. People around here refer to them as "stupid" swampers. They did not wear very well but have decent tread. I rotated them several times and adjusted the air pressure. They were a pain in the ass to balance also, seems like as they wear they need to be re-balanced.

BurnoutNova 05-04-2004 01:11 PM

yes i have drums, factory i guess.

how many miles are on them? or how much tread? and you want to sell the wheels and tires? i thought you re used the wheels with your 35's??? anyway, im intersted, what do you want for them?

JIMs70GMC 05-04-2004 01:41 PM

No the rims I used were a set of American Racing white wagon wheels. (I like the look)
I'll snap some pics and email them to you this evening, ok? Less than 10,000 miles.
