Help Us Help you! Grims rant

I like helping folks out but throw me a bone here. How about some imprtant details? Stuff like what engine, what year, what mods, what transmssion.

It's not real fair for you to make us hunt for this type of information. So next time you ask a general question and either get no replies or just off the wall stuff....guess who's to blame?

A common problem for a 75 with a TH350 may have simular sypmtoms as a 89 700r4 that is a differenet repar all together.

"My Truck bogs". That's nice general one. So we dish out a bunch of try adjusting the idle mixture. See if the accelerator pump is squirting then you get around to telling us it's a 87 with Fuel injection.

Point is the more info you can provide including modifications the faster you going to get the CORRECT answer.

i dont know if the tranny one was directed to me but i figured that everybody would know that a 89 burban had a 700r4 in it. sorry about that i will be more discreptive (sp?) from now on

Well it was not directed at you but that's a good example.
All 89 burbs do not have 700R4's. Some have TH400 Just like my 88 Burb does. In some very rare cases you might find a 465. In 91 they had the option of the 4L80 or the 700.

GR point well taken. I to may have done this w/o thinking. I thought that a 86 would have an od trans but as I found out - not. So in my next post I'll be a little more specific.
thanks.

These trucks are old now. What was supose to be in them and what is in them are two different things. My 75 has a 79 10 bult under the front and a 77 12 bolt rear.

"These trucks are old now" -GR, I prefer to think of them as 'more mature'. You see , I'm trying to keep the word 'OLD' out of my vocabulary. As for my 86 as far as I can tell it is completely stock, except for the trans, but as I stated in an earlier post I thought that there would have been an "OD" in the trans selector, I could be wrong but that is how I thought you could tell the difference, but as it is mine came stock with a 350th.
