tire size for 7 in wheels
I have a set of 15x7 in rally wheels on my truck. i realy dont know what size tire these can handle with out distorting the tire foot printand wear caracteristics.
|
I am looking for a wide foot print as well as fill out the wheel well for the street. (not any low profile tires)

255/60-15 will fit, 8inch wide tread.

on a 7" rim,you can`t get real big or your gonna have the tread face looking like a basketball, and the police might think your drunk 24/7 cause it`ll drive like crap.the 7" rallyes usually came with a 225/75/15 from factory/8" with 235/75/15-so go from there.if you have an understanding tire company that will mount tires until your satified,go for it.in place of a 235/75/15 tire that looks good, has a good amount of tread width, fills the wheelwell area, smokekiki has the right size, but i`m almost positive you`ll have to use the 8"rallye instaead of the 7"

bfg calls for a 7-8.5" rim for a 255/60 and a 6.5 -8.5 for a 255/70-15
|
thanks guys, Just tring to work on the parts list.

I like a 215/70 on a 7" ralley,... and a 275/60 on a 8" ralley. (this is on 4/6 lowered vehicles) Kinda gives it the big and little look. Both fit the rims good and have plenty of sidewall.

I agree you don't want to get too big of a tire.I bought a 72 GMC that had 7" wheels and 275/60 tires on all 4 corners. It handled like crap till I changed to 255/60's.

I have LT 235/75 Kumho Powergaurd AT's on my 15x7 ralley's, and they have worn really good with 35-40 psi.
