Truck weights

What does your truck weigh ?? Not what the Title says, but it's actual weight..

And with the weight, what is it, IE: short step, short wide, long box etc..

Longhorn Man 10-05-2004 05:00 PM

My 69 SWB GMC, fleet side small block Th350, coi8l rear, with alluminum wheels, intake, and headers came in at 3900 and some chainge. This was with no spare, but a small tool box and normal minimal junk. I have a pic of the ticket on another computer...but not this one.

Mine's a C/20 long fleetside, has 15" steel wagon wheels and 31's, weighs a little over 5000lbs with a full tank, spare, and hi-lift jack.

RON WOODGEARD 10-08-2004 05:13 PM

I knew they were around 4000 pounds, some of you have some great lower weight...

I weighed mine 14 or 15 years ago and it was a sort step, roll bar, front pre runner bar, 5 off road lights on top and 4 on the front bar, SmittyBuilt 3" double tube rear bumper, two High Lifts, ETC. and it was in the 4600 Lb. area.

I was curious to get an idea of what it might be now that it's lowered with all of the pre-runner stuff and off road stuff gone.

Yukon Jack 10-08-2004 05:21 PM

Before the 454, with the 307 and me in the truck it was about 5,700.

1972C10 10-08-2004 06:10 PM

3/4 Tons are heavy My 85 wieghed over 6000 with a 454 it now wieghs 5800 with a small block But i carry around a ton of chains and a jack tools stuff like that.

crazy longhorn 10-08-2004 06:30 PM

My longhorn tips the scales right @ 4240, with about 1/2 tank fuel, & my 220 lb @ss.....the old truck is pretty stripped tho! I run no air or heat, minus front bumper, & inner fenders, Jazz plastic buckets, alum heads & intake on the SB chev, She is rolling on 1/2 ton suspension......& no door glass. The things we do for fun  the old truck runs pretty good(for a sled)! crazyL :burnout:

shortymac83 10-08-2004 06:52 PM

less than my 3800 lb Delta 88...

67 LWB fleet, 250 3 spd...

gmc67swb 10-24-2004 10:14 AM

Finally weighed my truck yesterday 10/23. It weighed 3900. SWB, iron head 350, tremec 5 spd, spare tire, small tool set, my 260lb a$$ and some misc. junk. I was surprised. I weighed my '98 ss camaro at the Motorplex and it was 3660lb. Not that much difference in imo.

bigdog69 10-24-2004 01:34 PM

68LSS1, Why do you need to get down to 3000 lbs?

bad_turbo 10-24-2004 01:43 PM

Hey, my '99 suburban weighs just over 8400lbs, does that count?

Project1970 10-24-2004 05:53 PM

With my 230-240lb butt in the driver's seat, a half-tank of gas, trailer hitch, '99 Suburban bench, headers, Vortec heads, aluminum intake, 700R4 tranny, and new carpet, right about 4250lb.

I hope to cut that by a good amount with the LS1/4L60E...going from an iron block with iron heads and an aluminum intake to an aluminum block with aluminum heads and a composite intake should do that. ;)
