Check out this poor truck. A 67 3/4t 4x4, v-8 4 speed. It was complete, even had the key in the igintion!! The frame looked real clean. The tags were from 1981. I was out of town today and it was sitting just off the road. No one was home to talk to about it. Look how far the front tires are sunk in the ground! :(

Looks pretty solid too, did you leave a number on his door so he can contact you?

I'll bet that gas tank has huge chunks of rust all inside it.

Isn't it funny how people will abandon seemingly good condition vehicles like that? I recently had a discussion with some of my buddies about various vehicles we had seen, parked for a long time, and we had asked if they were for sale. Most of the time we got a resounding "no." We figured that these vehicles have been left as a shrine of sorts to one of their deceased relatives/friends.

In my case, there is a mid 70's Ford F-250 4x4 that has been parked outside of this rickety old house for as long as I can remember. Its sheetmetal is almost perfect, and all the evidence indicates it only has 6k some odd miles on it (interior is mint, plastic bags on the pedals, Ford-printed paper in both footwells). I have left notes multiple times and even dug up the phone #, but no one answers. The truck was last registered in 1991. Someone there mows the grass, though, and the drive is always plowed in the winter. I'd be curious just to hear the story more than anything else.

Kevin, No, I was actually chasing a lead on a 1972 1 ton Camper with a big block and bucket seats!! (Like I need another one!) I found the owner, it was gone! Said the rear wheels came off one side and sent him off the freeway!! Said insurance paid $4000.00 and they kept it. Now he has a newer Ford camper! Damn!! I drove 100 some miles one way to find it. Oh well, you gotta chase them, you never know. :)

That proves it... You should never park for more than twenty years over the leech field.

Looks like they`re still using it to make hauls to the dump.Notice the lack of decorative landscaping(no trees growing in the bed). They`ll be in a heap o` trouble if they get caught runnin`round on that`81 tag.

I know where there is another 67 3/4 4x4 for sale and it runs and drives. Had it on the board last year and nobody was interested. I think he still has it. Hauls hay to the cattle with it.

Thats a pretty cool Truck. Would be nice to see someone save that....

FRENCHBLUE72 11-21-2004 07:18 PM

Sure would love to have that.... I would really like to get a 67-68 4wd... It's a shame it has sunk so far into the ground....
