...and now look at these. The picture just doesn't do them justice. These are "chrome", not just polished stainless. I have found a couple of these over the years (1/2T, 3/4T, GMC & Chev). I don't know how or why they were done, but they are surely real GM...and the finish is amazing.
I would venture a guess that they are somewhat "Rare", but everytime I use that word 50 guys jump on and tell me they have hoards of the stuff. ;)
I am not trying/offering these for sale...just an interesting item that fits the subject of this thread. If you insist, I will put a price on them, but don't ***** if it is "over the top".

If you think these prices are a little high, remember I had to buy them. As an example I just bought two 67 caps on Ebay for about $40 and they have "rubber hammer dents" in them. Maybe I can improve them, maybe not. I don't even know if they are 1/2 or 3/4, so the other two I have may not even match them.

DAM* those last two look awesome! I've only found one real nice chrome hubcap but it was from a '71 and has the concave center, not the convex one I need and it's nice, but not like those! Got it off ebay from a guy about 30 miles from me too.

frank, what do you use to polish them so well?

barraza 12-05-2004 12:55 AM

Nice caps like these don't need much. Just wipe on some polish and wipe off.
Real bad ones can be improved with a bench grinder & buffing wheel, but only so much.
