Something sound odd in my truck - audio file

Hmm, something sounds very odd - wonder what that sound is?

File is a quicktime - hope that will play for most of you until I convert it to an mpg

Well imagine that! Sounds good! Now get a seat/steering column in that truck and go for a ride! I was able to see you as is.

Yukon Jack 12-11-2004 07:08 PM

I've got one monster smile on my face and my ears hurt but boy does it sound good!!!!!

Palf70Step 12-11-2004 07:09 PM

Could that be the sound of movement coming soon? Sounds like you added a cylinder or 2 to that old 307 :D

I take it from the smile on your face that is the sound of success, at last. Congrats Yukon!!!!!

Yukon Jack 12-11-2004 07:27 PM

Yep, success - what a big relief - the 454 has been patiently waiting for about 2 years - hard to believe. A little more to do before it can move under it's own power - need to get the hydraulic clutch on and bleed the brakes. May not wait to drive down the road for the interior.

jeffnstef 12-11-2004 07:30 PM

Sounded OK to me

I think it might be a "loose nut" holding on the steering wheel !

Alexis 12-11-2004 07:37 PM

Sounds awesome. :metal:

gmc67swb 12-11-2004 07:48 PM

It's nice to see that "I finally got it going" smile. What color is that? It looks similar to mine. Sounds nice.

Good luck with it

Larry

Yukon Jack 12-11-2004 07:50 PM

The color is based off of a Saturn metallic silver made a little lighter with lots more metallic.

My head still hurts from the open headers but boy does it sound good! I have a feeling when I go feed the dogs, I will be making a stop in the barn.

longnlow72 12-11-2004 08:03 PM

you look like a kid in a candy store sitting there

Yukon Jack 12-12-2004 12:01 AM

I felt that way for sure - I was soo worried something was going to be wrong but seems like it is gonna be fine. Hopefully get out tomorrow night and maybe get the replacement hydraulic clutch cylinder installed and work on getting the brakes bled.

FRENCHBLUE72 12-12-2004 10:35 AM

FuelCellGuy 12-12-2004 11:08 AM

Apparently, the BB is getting fuel ok!! ;)

BLAZERMAN 12-12-2004 11:32 AM

For some reason I cant play it, I'll bet it sounds great! Keep up the good work.

Yukon Jack 12-12-2004 12:27 PM

FuelCellGuy - fuel tank is working great - can't wait to drive to a gas station and see just how muc it holds - ought to hurt the wallet a bit!

BOSS 12-12-2004 12:38 PM

Yukon it took me about 45 minutes to download it but it was worth every second,Sounds Great!

Yukon Jack 12-12-2004 12:52 PM

I think it is like 6 meg haven't been able to try to convert it to a smaller foramt yet.

Sure wish cameras could capture sound better. Funny how often I'm finding an excuse to run out to the barn - have to fire it up each time. This chilly morning one pump of the throttle and two bumps of the starter and she fired right up - the poor 307 took a creative approach to get it to fire up in chilly weather - I think I'm gonna get used to this real quick.

BOSS 12-12-2004 12:56 PM

The next sound file should be the tires squealing trying to get traction.....lol

Yukon Jack 12-12-2004 01:04 PM

And the the snap of axles - that better not happen!
