Lowering???????

I have a 82swb i want to put 22's on it, my question to the board is what would be a good lowering height to lower my truck on the 22's i really want that low look but enough height to go over speed bumps and make turns, I heard 3/5 5/5 4/6 what do u think? What is a good price for lowering kit install?? Also i live in austin,tx do any one know of a place around here that will put a lowering kit on??? thx alot

A 4/6 will definitely be driveable & should look good w/22's. The big issue will be utilizing the appropriate sized tire. My tires have almost a 4" sidewall & I get nervous around potholes, 22's will be worse. Also, along w/tire size, wheel backspacing is even more critical if you go more than 4/6.

I can't help w/recommending shops around Austin, but I know of a good one in the DFW area. Lowering is nothing an avg joe couldn't do in their driveway w/some backround research.

Check w/Summit for drop parts/kits or visit sporttruckdirect.com. My truck has 3" spindles & 1 coil cut from stock 74 v8 coils up front & a flip kit + 2" shackles out back, has 18's & 20's & I currently drive it daily.
