69 Or 68?

My truck is titled as a 69, but I've thought from day 1 that it has a 68 doghouse, with later model fenders and hood.
The first pic is of the headlight that doesn't fit in the grill opening correctly. (don't mind the POS chrome bar grill-PO.)
The 2nd pic is the hand E-brake. (I know the wiring looks bad, but it works...)
The 3rd is the mirror mounting to the top of the cab.
Is there anything else to look for that will tell me what year the cab/doghouse really is?

Also, the 4th pic is of my glove box. Anyone know what used to go where the (3) holes are?

The hand e-brake is a 67/68 cab thing. Your cowl vent pulls are also 67/68 style. The mirror you show is a 67 mirror but it screws on the same as the 68-71 version.

The glove box probably had an emblem that read "CHEVROLET".

A 67 glovebox has a black "camera case" finish on it, not painted. If it's a big back window cab, my vote is it's 68 cab.

I think the cab is a 68 but it could also be a 67 with the panoramic window option.
The vent window pulls were a little different looking for the 67 model, I don't think they were quite as smooth as the 68's

The visor hooks are installed upside down though.

Visor Hooks

I don't think the visor hooks are upside down for a 68 cab. 67 & 68 were as shown and in 69 they reversed them. The factory assem manual shows the slot opening downward for 67 &68. The hook even changed in 69 with different tits than the earlier ones. This is what I have found out here were most of the trucks came from the Fremont Assem Plant.

Maybe look at the wiring for the marker lights. I think the '68's had reflectors only and if the markers work, they would have the wires spliced into that circut. Not really a cab thing, but I doubt the PO would have gone to the bother of changing harnesses.

One other thing, headlight&wiper switches are both on the left. Right side for choke (if it is a 67-8) No man. choke on 69-72 10-30 series.

Actually, My Grandpa's 68 that he gave to me had that exact style mirror, and that's from the factory.

Thanks for all the replies!!! You guys rock :metal:

So, if I were to come across a 68 front grill, would the fenders & hood match up/line up, or would they leave a gap to my current fenders & hood?

The rear window is the large one, but on my triangle vent windows, the pass side is the 68-?? style, and the driver side is a 67 I believe...

The front edge of the fenders has alittle lip for the grill of the 69-72 to sit in, and the hood won't go all the way down to meet the grill.

Thanks for the pics to explain the difference.

Oh yeah, on the vent window thing... the little handles are what i'm talking about on the 68-?? vs the 67 style...
