Custom exhaust or a kit?
whats the best way to go with exhaust, take your truck to a shop and have them make you a custom one, or order a complete kit from somewhere and install it yourself? also, where did you get your exhaust systems from?

I bought some axle pipes, and the pipes I needed for my manifolds, and rigged the rest up myself. Worked quite nice, except I didn't get the one manifold piped bolted on quite straight when I welded it all together and it leaked =/

i've done both and i liked the shop better...it fits better and looks better...plus, they fix it if something is wrong...for all the trouble i had with rigging the kit for a 4x4 blazer, i should have taken it to a shop

Custom on the GMC and kit on the chevy, like the custom better and the price was not that different.

I got the 2 1/2" dual kit from LMC. It didn't fit the greatest and I had some clearance issuses beween the driveshaft and the trailing arms. The system kept getting loose and rubbed the driveshaft on bumps...finally got enough clamps/hangers on it to stop it. It's a universal kit for lwb and swb and leaf and coil rears. That should explain it. I put it on in a couple hours. I'm happy with it, but I would spend the extra $ and go to a shop. I think I paid like $210-220? for it and I remember several local muffler shops quoting me between $300-400. If I ever get er back on the road I may take it to a shop and have it all welded......
