Painting Intake Manifold
 

Ok I am getting around to painting my intake manifold tonight and I need to know what areas I need to mask off and not paint. Intake is astock cast iron intake manifold.

anywhere there will be a gasket. otherwise you should be fine. take some masking tape and tape off the carb opening and the intake ports. depending on what paint your using you may want to keep from painting the bottom of the intake as well to prevent the paint from flaking into your engine oil.

Thanks. I am using the por 15 engine kit. I was thinking since the intake was already bead blasted, cleaned out and primered I just may go straight to the por 15 paint.

Use the metal prep. Bead blasting doesn't get the surface rough enough for the POR-15 to stick.

Follow the POR instructions for the best results.

I just finished mine. I had mine sand blasted. Cleaned it with Xylene and used the chevy orange POR-15 engine paint. It is sooooooo.....sweet~! I can take pix tonight.
