Windows/Glass
What do u use for cleaning your windows? I used a product one time that worked great but u can't find it anymore.
Old newspaper loosely wadded up works great if you dont have window tint.
Has anyone ever seen a cleaner called Streakproof? That stuff was the best stuff I had ever used but I can't find it anymore. I learned the newspaper trick years ago when I was in the Army. It does work.
Stoners invisiglass, with the wadded up newspaper, nice and crystal clear
whats the newspaper do?
Doesn't leave streaks like the papertowels do
I like stoners too.I get it at autozone.
newspaper huh? i gotta try that.
Where I detail cars at we use glass wax in and out acts like rain x outside and smoke doesnt stick as bad inside,,,,
For scratches that can not catch a fingernail and heavy water spots I use a felt buff on a drill and silica abrasive. Have only found the buffs at JC Whitney. You must keep the buff clean or you will do more harm than good. Also not good for late model cars, will remove the tint.
Stoners Invisible glass + Blue Surgical towels = clean, lint free, show quality clean windows.
News papers works great, however you must use the sport section for it to work better.
Ordered some Castle product "Streakproof" last night. Will see how this stuff works.
If you have a paper sack big enough to fit over your head, go to the Ford place & get some of their foaming glass cleaner in the spray can. It's a little pricey, but it works better than anything I've found. A close second, and a good bit cheaper, is Snap Glass Cleaner, sometimes available at places like Pep Boys, etc.

For exterior water spots that don't come off with normal glass cleaner, try a little vinegar. If that doesn't take care of it, then Bon Ami on a damp sponge. I have also used 3M Swirl Mark Remover on glass with good results.
I've always used Clindo, awindow cleaner that I was introduced to as a truck driver. No runs, no streaks, even when using paper towels. If you are near a Petro truck stop, their brand name aerosol window cleaner is the same thing.
Update on the castle Streakproof............ seems to work really well and it does have the smell like the stuff I used years ago.

FOAMING GUNK window cleaner is the best.i use news paper to wipe the glass clean with too
Sprayway foaming glass cleaner works great as well. It can be purchased at SOME Ace Hardware stores (all of them are independently owned).
I use pretty much whatever glass cleaner I got on hand and never had a problem. I also use newpaper as others do. I once read that the newspaper ink actually polishes the window and that is why they look so good when wiped with newpapers.
if yawant to stay outta the blue and mopar place.... goto GM and get their foaming glass cleaner, works great!
It's the soy bean based ink in the newspaper that makes the glass shine.

Well i've been using newspaper before it was soybean ink, & they both work the same way. I think maybe its just the paper. Someone mentioned vinegar, that is hands down the best stuff i've ever used. I used to make my own glass cleaner. There was 3 parts. vinegar, ammonia, alcohol. I would mix all 3 parts equally spray it on & wipe it off. Then one day I ran out & mixed about half water & half vinegar, & it worked as good as the other stuff. Another tip i've used is to put some isopropyl alcohol in your washer solvent in the winter. It wont freeze, ever. Alcohol is hard on rubber parts though. :b69:
