Alternator rebuild question

Hello again..

I have a question on GM alternators (internally regulated).

On my truck I have what I believe is a 10SI setup, 3 wires... it is kinda small and has ribs around the outside edge at the rear....

On my 81 vette, I have a physically slightly physically larger and smoother alternator. What is this? Is it a 12SI? or just a newer 10SI? again a 3 wire set up...

I want to rebuild both but am unsure about the designations... can anyone assist? especially confuzzled on the vette one.. is stock but don't know what it's called... don't want to pay shipping on something I won't use...

Cheers
Lee

I had thought I wanted to rebuild my 10si as well, it had a bad regulator that was draining the battery while the truck was off. I priced the regulator, it was $29... then I priced a 10si and it was $38. Needless to say, I just bought the rebuilt unit.

Just FYI
