I'M ACTUALLY OFF THAT DAY, IF THEY CAN COME THAT DAY IT WOULD
BE AWESOME, JUST THE EARLIER THE BETTER SINCE I MIGHT ROLL TO
MEMPHIS THAT AFTERNOON, BUT I MAY NOT IF WEATHER SUCKS, I SAY
GO FOR IT ON THE 15TH, BUT I WILL NOT BE HERE THE 16TH OR 17TH. ;)

GenIIIShorty 04-04-2005 04:47 PM

sounds good. i'll give 'em a call tomorrow and set up for a 15 apr pickup! and then i can taer into her! got a beautiful small windaow cab and 67 gmc clip for her. found it after i bought the stuff that got delivered, but couldn't pass it up! $500 for a rust-free cab and clip, plus a 1500 mile rebuilt 292 and 4-speed. and the TPI is going in this summer!

LUV2XCLR8 04-04-2005 04:50 PM

WOW, SOUNDS COOL, LOOKS LIKE YOU JUST NEEDED MY FRAME

GenIIIShorty 04-04-2005 04:54 PM

true enough! got a 73-87 short 4x4 that i am gonna throw my extra chevy cab and clip on, with a flatbed. should be fun!

LUV2XCLR8 04-04-2005 04:56 PM

ALL THE GMC STUFF IS IN THE BED, I THROUGH IN MY EXTRA SHAVED
WINDSHEILD COWL, SOME EXTRA DOOR HANDLES (DRIVER QUALITY),
AND ANY THING ELSE I FIND I DON'T NEED WILL BE IN THERE ALSO.

GenIIIShorty 04-04-2005 05:04 PM

sounds good. changed my title from parts scrounger into junk collector.......cuz that's what i do! including your truck, i have 2.5 67-72s.....plus a whole bunch of parts! fenders coming out of my ears...........

LUV2XCLR8 04-04-2005 05:06 PM

WELL AT LEAST YA CAN SELL WHAT YA DON'T KEEP

GenIIIShorty 04-04-2005 05:12 PM

that's the plan. with all my stuffs, i have got some good pieces that don't need bodywork. now all i gotta do is fix blacky's bed.......and she'll be good to go!

I'D START LOOKING FOR ONE, LIKE I SAID IN THE ORIGINAL "FOR SALE"
THREAD WAY BACK WHEN, THE BED IS THE WORST PART ON HER, BUT
I'M NO BODY GUY, MAYBE IT'S REFURBISHABLE, LEAST IT'S ALL THERE.

GenIIIShorty 04-04-2005 05:23 PM

yeah, i found a rough fleetside, but i like the stepside look........it'll be on the list. winter here is nasty, so i won't be able to drive her and she will turn into a winter project. just wanna get her on the road with the new cab and clip with the tpi before summer. dunno, maybe i'll put a tubbed fleet bed on her.

LUV2XCLR8 04-04-2005 05:32 PM

I AM SURE NO MATTER WHICH DIRECTION YOU GO IT WILL TURN OUT
AWESOME, JUST GLAD I DID NOT HAVE TO SCRAP HER, ERIC (CHEVYE)
WAS HERE SATURDAY AND HE TOLD ME THAT HE LOVED THE LOOK OF
HER, I TOLD HIM I WISH I COULD KEEP HER, BUT THE WIFE WON. :whine:

GenIIIShorty 04-04-2005 05:35 PM

ahhhh, the joys of being single. yeah, she should be a lot of fun. my first full on project. worked on cars for quite a while, but this is the first one that is actually mine! i've got all the parts except for a few small things, so it's pretty much just a matter of time.

LIKE WHAT

GenIIIShorty 04-04-2005 05:39 PM

i'm gonna run the motor off a laptop, so i need the dfi to do that, and a new painless harness for it, and my tranny; new roll pan for the front; depending on how much bodywork the bed needs, maybe a new bed, but my buddy is a body man; new driver's fender to get rid of the cutout; a posi for the back; interior; i think that's all i need.

LUV2XCLR8 04-04-2005 05:49 PM

 CAN'T HELP W/ THAT, THOUGHT U MENT LIL STUFF LIKE NOBS, ETC.... :hm:

GenIIIShorty 04-04-2005 05:51 PM

lol, my 67 cab is stock as a rock and in beautiful shape! should be good on knobs and such. and i guess my little stuff really isn't so little, huh? but it can all wait for the winter.

GenIIIShorty 04-04-2005 05:52 PM

i'll probably drop the 292 into her and run her around like that til winter

IF THE 250 HAD NOT LAYED DOWN I WOULD HAVE NEVER SOLD HER, BUT
I GUESS THE 465,000 MILES WAS ENOUGH, IT WAS RUNNING WHEN I CUT
IT OFF AND THE I HAD IT WRECKERED HOME, IT SHOULD RUN ENOUGH TO
LOAD HER UP, DO YOU KNOW IF THIS IS A LARGE TRANSPORT (MULTICAR)
OR IS JUST SOME FARMER TED W/ A DUALLY AND A 5TH WHEEL TRAILER,
REASON I ASK IS THIS, SHE IS PRETTY LOW, WONDERING IF SHE'LL DRAG
ONTO THE TRAILER, I CAN JACK HER UP IN THE FRONT AND CRAM A 2X4
CHUNK IN W/ THE SPRINGS, BUT I CAN'T DO ANYTHING ON THE REAR.

GenIIIShorty 04-04-2005 06:35 PM

LOL! should be a multi-car, cuz it's a transport company, not some farmer with a trailer. with enough momentum, you should be able to get her up, and she's getting new rollpans, cab and front clip, so whatever drags will probably get replaced, anyway. the bed i'll fix if it gets messed up.

LUV2XCLR8 04-04-2005 06:42 PM

:hmm: WONDER IF THE TRUCK WILL FIT / COME DOWN MY STREET

GenIIIShorty 04-04-2005 07:03 PM

worst case, blacky'll have to limp a little farther!
