Skid plate option
Can anyone tell me how many pieces are involved when you have the skid plate option?
My 71 Blazer has the option and it looks like there is an extra crossmember right behind the X-fer case and the plate bolted to both crossmembers. Then there is a steel tub covering the gas tank.....so three pieces on the Blazer. But when I bought the Blazer, there was another huge plate and strange crossmember in the cab. Not sure where it would go, if it even belongs here. Sorry no pics yet. Thanks, Davy |
Davy,
The only ones I've seen are the T-case and gas tank skid plates that you've described. I'd like to see pics of that other one, sounds interesting! Bob |
I'll get some pics. I suspect that it is off a "Big" truck of some sort.

I think I have a skid plate down in the garage. My daughter has a 72 Blazer and it has the skid for the tank. I'm wondering if I had taken the other off at some time.

Here is the odd skid plate and cross member that was in the back of my Blazer when I bought it. It clearly does not belong. It is Beefy though.

That plate looks like a front skid plate on a late model truck with IFS.

I agree looks to be a front skid plate maybe the old owner was trying to make it work on this truck... Doc
