Master Cylinder leak by??
hey guys,
The fluid in the front chamber of my master cylinder has gone down a couple times, and I've got no leaks anywhere in the lines or at the wheels, So i'm assuming it is somehow leaking internally, I'm going to replace it this weekend but i'm just wondering if there is a possiblilty that it has leaked into my brake booster and might do any damage there, or if my diagnosis is even right. The whole brake systems off a 76 but I'm pretty sure that its the same as 71-2's isn't it? |
Leak
The rear seal IS inside the booster. Good possibility you will find a good bit of fluid in there this weekend. Sounds like a good time to change back to the right set-up while you have it apart. Brakes is the ONE place you don't want to settle for cheap. Just my 2 cents worth. Take care, Mike

You want me to go back to manual master cylinder and 4 wheel drums. Maybe i wasn't clear, the whole brake setup is off a 76 big block truck, right from the discs to the front lines, to the master cylinder and booster and it was all new about two years ago on that truck. I did the swap because I thought that was the "right" way to make the ones with drums stop. |
