burb seats vs. truck seats
would a 72 truck bench seat be the same as a 72 burb front seat?
   |
No,in that the burb seat is fully covered in upolstory.

Front burb seats do not fold foward. I recently acquired a clunker '72 hodgepodged pickup that has a non-folding seat in its cab. This is my first 67-72 GM pickup and I was since told that the pickup seats fold foward to access between the gas tank and the seat. Correct?

Not all seats in the trucks folded forward. Doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason as to which ones folded and which ones didn't. My 70 had the original seat and uit was fixed, A friend had a 69 and it folded. I know others with 70's that fold also. Dioesn't seem to matter on the options either. I have seem top of the line models with fixed seats and bottom of the line without. I dunno, maybe it was the plant they were assembled in that had some meaning to the confusion.

They probably used what they had since all the bolting was the same. Could be a case of end of model run had extra seats left over from applications that required the folding seat so they used them instead of making more none folding. Would be interesting to do a chart dealing with serial #, Plant, and interior color. See if that may have been the case. Or find an guy who worked in the plant that may be able to better explain this.
