I have all of the pumps and braquets to put the powersteering pump on I just need to know what size bolts to put it on with. The engine is a 350 chevy 70 c-10

Please Help I have no idea what length what type of thread or even what size bolt. You can find any other set of bolts out of a cataloge but I can't find the ps bolts

thanks

I'll bite - most bolts on the engine are coarse thread 3/8. Always use grade 5 or better bolts. Stick something in a bolt hole, measure the depth, and add the thickness of the bracket to get the bolt length. Get that length or slightly shorter. Common hardware store stuff, available anywhere.

I'll add my .02 to that GM is right most engine bolts are coarse thread and either 7/16 , 3/8ths or 5/16ths. Power steering pumps mount to the front of the engine either to the block or the heads and use 3/8ths x 16 coarse thread bolts. Some brackets bolt to the block and use bigger sizes and the pump then bolts to the bracket.
A way I use to find the thread size is to try a tap in the hole and when I find the one that fits I read the size printed on the tap. As far as length goes then just measure the thickness of the bracket and add enough threads to get three showing through the bracket. That's an old air force standard.

I would help you but the bolts on my truck don't look original and some are double washered. I agree with measuring. I would rather be a 1/4" too short than 1/16" too long. Luckily I have a place name Blue Collar that sells most grades of bolts by the pound and I need to stock up this next Saturday. If you are too far away to get bolts I will send you a set.

I am buying a power steering set up from another board member and if he does not have the hardware I am going to have the same problem. Someone has got to know.

I think the bolts are about 1-1/2 inches long.
