Business cards representing the board..

What would be the possibilities of some one creating a business card that represents the board? Time after time I see trucks in parking lots and in passing that I’d like to invite to the board but either don’t have anything to write with or no time to do so. Each person could print the cards out on their PCs or order them from the board for a nominal fee.

Just food for thought?

The Board information could be on one side of the card and the members information (if you want to) on the other side of the card.

This has been discussed before, and my cards are as quoted above, among
other stuff on the list is Liz's board, Tim's website, Josh and Liz's Club, etc.

I think this is a great idea, especially if you are trying to promote CGITC. A format that would be recognizeable anywhere should be easy to come up with. What do you think MODS?

I use AVERY #27881 cards, can be bought at Wallyworld, the template
is on their website, www.avery.com, and you use template #8371, do
not have one of my cards scanned at the moment, but it is as follows,

Front

LUV2XCLR8
A.K.A. CRAIG COATS
CELL - (731) XXX-XXXX
HOME - (731) XXX-XXXX

Rear

Best 67-72 Board - this website url
Best 67-72 Club - cgitc website url
67-72 Board other - mot website url
Craig's E-mail - my E-mail address
"GQ" - my cardomain pic's url
New Parts - Tim Christians website url

Plus I have watermark pic's in the background
on both sides of the card, "GQ" on my side and
a Red Bowtie on the other side of the card. ;)

When you can let's see a pic, maybe to add a GMC logo or leave it to owner preference, I guess it depend if you were a club member of not.

There is a site, vistaprint.com, that has "free", well almost free cards in several styles. I have not been there lately, but maybe there is one that could be used. I think it is $10 for 250 cards printed in one of their styles. A good deal for cards.

guyryan100 09-15-2005 06:45 PM

I've met people with vistaprint cards before - they're pretty nice. On the back is a little plug for vistacards but it would work and is the best deal out there. You just pay for shipping basically.

I would be interested in doing this myself. If we could come up with a basic template for everyone to use to make their own it would be a great way to get more truck lovers in here. I've been thinkin about getting some printed up also...

smirch9 09-17-2005 02:12 PM

GOTPRINT.com. They have several templates to use or you could make one up yourself, and the cards are relativley cheap also.

Here are a couple, image didn't come out as sharp as I hoped for though.

smirch9 09-17-2005 05:37 PM

barn9-that looks pretty darn good I might say, I think we should submit 3-5 designs like yours for example and vote on them to see which one everybody likes, then use the winners design for our new card. Of course I think we should get Josh's approval though, what do you think?

Guess I should have added that they could be plugged in to Paint and finished out to individual specs, like this, hehee!

chickenwing 09-17-2005 05:48 PM

I tried this Txfirfighter even sent me the above graphic. Something did not work for the software the company I selected though. Had a management change and the price break I had was gone. Never picked it back up. Like the above! If it could be put in a format for me to print out I'd do it.

Edit: Well not that graphic! The one prior to that!

LUV2XCLR8 09-17-2005 05:50 PM

I have given out over 50 to date, however I can't remember peeps

I printed some up last year too...and forgot em....it's hell getting old.

GMCjunkie 09-18-2005 08:34 PM

I make them on my "American Greetings Create a card" program. Ive handed out at leaste a hundred over the past couple years. I also use the Avery cards from Wal Mart.

longhorn71 09-18-2005 09:16 PM

Took one of the logo's and modified to look like this. I can put a picture of anyone of my trucks so someone if interested can find me and talk about the site.
