Edelbrock Quadrajunk Replacement
I am wondering if anyone else is running the Edelbrock Quadrajet Replacement. I got one Real cheap but I have never gotten it to run right. It seems that the choke hangs up or something. I rebuilt it but it didn't seem to change anything. THere are times that even when hot I can jack the air bleed screws all the way shut and nothing changes, not even the idle speed. If you have any experience or advice let me know.

Re: Edelbrock Quadrajunk Replacement
Worst comes to worst you can send it back to Edelbrock and they will recondition it for you. As for the screws not shutting it doen, sounds like a vaccum leak? If it runs full on and lean rich does not matter it could be a leaky gasket (base plate) or a hose off of it. You may need to pull the screws all the way out and shoot carb cleaner in there to ensure it is not plugged up as well. Good luck.

Re: Edelbrock Quadrajunk Replacement
Been runnin' mine for four years, with never a problem. The divorced choke required me to buy the new parts and install it, but that has worked great, too.
It is soooooo much better than the 600cfm Edelbrock model 1405, for my purposes. Better mileage, better performance. On any carburetor, if you screw in the idle air adjustment screws and go too deep/bottom them out too hard, you can cut little grooves into the needle end and that will make it very difficult to adjust. If those needle screws have grooves cut into them, get a new pair and see if isn't better. |
