Approx weight of a cab?
Anybody know what the approx weight of a
C-10 cab is? With Doors, benchseat, gastank (no gas) and no steering column. Cab still has all the glass in it. I want to make a stand to support it is why i ask. Thanks all! ------------------ 71 Chevy C-10 SWB Fleetside WAS:307w/3-on-the-tree NOW:350TBI/700R4/3.73 See it at www.prismnet.com/~grzanich |
You sure you want to leave all that glass in it? And the doors on it? That adds a lot of extra weight! I would have to guess with all that stuff you are leaving on it to weigh in easy at 600 pounds or so! Hell a bare cab that is compleatlly striped (just a shell) probably weighs 250-300 pounds!

Sound about right. The doors and seat are the killers here, they are so easy to remove, I can't see a good reaon to leave them on.

I just got my cab completely stripped out over the weekend and I know it has to weigh around 250lbs. My next door neighbors son tried to help me lift it off the frame and we chose not to do it since I wanted it carried around the house to the basement garage. I would take the doors off for sure!

I had a 71 GMC cab weighed at the dump once.
With the seat, fuel tank, most all the under/behind dash parts in it, front and rear glass, no doors, no steering column. 580 pounds. ------------------
