or if you sell something you feel is superior or had bad experience with painless

Just an FYI: The painless harnesses dont come with all the connectors needed to just plug in their wiring. Also the fuse box is different. However, if you're gonna be adding alot, doing custom mods...they are great.
If you are just wanting to replace existing wiring with new, then you might want to go with M&H. There site is www.wiringharness.com They are by far the best for direct replacement and can be ordered with simple mods, such as HEI options and a few others.
I have used both and both are good quality, each one has its benifits.

I bought the painless kit (10206) awhile back though it isn't installed yet.
I believe the only connector that isn't included is the cresent shaped one for the steering column (you need to salvage that one if you're using the original column).
The box is different in that it uses modern plastic fuses instead of the old glass ones and it has a lot more available circuits (18 IIRC).You will also need to enlarge the opening in the firewall for the box slightly,but the kit has a template for that.Every wire is labelled every 6" to tell you what it is and the kit includes a ton of crimp connectors for hook up.
It's enough to make me look forward to wiring my truck!

FYI: The template that is printed in the manual....even though it says "actual size" is not correct when cut out. My suggestion is find a piece of card board like that at the back of a legal pad, make the cutout on that and test fit it to the fusebox...prior to cutting sheet metal. Just keep the orientation correct if this is what you end up doing...TEST fit everything before paint.
