Re: aluminum radiator

TTT....I gotta think bout that one...How exactly do you attach electric fans to that setup?

the best way to do electric fans is to make a shroud that covers the whole core like a factory setup then mount your fans to that! You can also use the zip tie deals that come with most fans to mount straight to the core or mount to the lip that's sticks up over and under the core so you have lots of options!

what are all the specs on the radiator how old, size, brand and so on. will it mount in the original location. Im building a twin turbo lt1 2 pt67 turbos shooting for around 1200 at the rear wheels.. what is the specs on your engine and did it keep it cool?

thanks

Re: aluminum radiator

That's a Griffen radiator, correct?
If it is I've got the same one in my 72.

I used a shroud from a 78-87 monte carlo/regal/cutlass (G?- body) and with some trimming it fits really good.
Mine is a 2 row 1.25 in tube.

I am interested in the TPI set up. Do you have more info?
What is the number on the number on the ECM? It should be a seven digit number that starts with 122 or 161
Do you have all of the sensors? O2, knock, TPS, etc
Was it from an auto or manual car?
Is the harness in decent shape? Any wires cut off?
Do you have the realays that mounted to the firewall?
Thanks!
Shawn

Re: aluminum radiator

Thanks Kevin and Robb
If the harness is factory that will tell us a little too.
The factory harness had a plug for an auto tranny. It may be white, it has four prongs in a square shape.
I would bet that the relays are laying in the middle of that harness.
Do you know what the box is that is mounted on top of the ECM? I have not seen that before.
Thanks!
Shawn

Robb, that looks scary all strung out :D
That computer is from an 85, I would assume the rest is too. The first picture in post 22 is a bit scary, but those may be the wires that stayed with the car, so it may not be too bad.
1985 had it's own harness, it would only work with an 85 computer. Did the PO tell you if that is the stock harness?
Did you happen to notice a white plug like this anywhere?
Thanks!
Shawn
