153 vs. 168 flywheels

Hey guys, I believe that 250 inch L6 use 168 tooth flywheels. Just bought a high performance one on Ebay that is 153 tooth. Is this just an easy swap of starters to make it work? Any other issues to be aware of? Did 6 cylinders use both 153 or 168 at different times?
Thanks!!

I've swapped both large and small flywheels onto my sixes over the years.

The flywheel is bolt on.

All you have to do is put a different nosecone onto your existing starter if you're using a block mounted starter.

I swapped my 292 from standard trans to auto trans a few weeks ago. I just used a flywheel I had laying around, which worked out as a 153 toother. I just swapped the old standard trans type of nosecone off the starter to a straight across 153 tooth style auto nosecone. It was like a 5 minute swap on the starter nosecone.

Thanks Tx. I'd take your 292 if I was a little closer. My truck came from Dallas. It hates the East. The body is rusting just sitting inside my garage!
