WTB: 305 engine in or near Iowa

Looking for a bolt and go 305 in good condition, prefer recent rebuild, but will consider rebuildable core also. Any year considered. Tell me what you may have. Thanks.

I have a 1968 307, from an 82k farmer truck.
Supposed to run pretty good, parted truck due to rust.
$150 complete intake to pan, no exhaust manifolds.
Add $50 for the granny 4 speed behind it.

Are you looking for a 305 specifically?
I have a 327 and a couple 350s, or even a 1968 396/TH400.
Located just outside of Rochester, MN.

OF all the smc v8's that GM produced, 305 would not be one I would go after--but that's your call. They weren't one of the best. My first choice would be an original 71 or 72---010 block with high nickel content and 4 bolt mains. They are a much stronger block in every respect. If I had a 305 available, it would be free !!

Thats why I'm looking for a 305 becuase they are cheap or free, but If there is a nice 350 or 327 etc for a reasonable price I would bite on that also.

I think the going rate for core blocks is around a $100

YOu know I have a 305 I'm thinking about using too. I got a $80 79Malibu that has a 84camaro/firebird 305 when I ran the numbers. It didn't run. The fuel filter was clogged I had it running in 5 min. It has 150psi in all cylinders. I thought of dropping it in my 67 c10 behind the 3 speed manual. first Im changing the cam to a summit 1102, timing chain, and valve seals or valve job. I have given away 305's in the past if someone was going to use them and not resell them. I've seen a few rebuilt with a mild cam and they ran good for a truck. Maybe it could squeeze some more mileage than a 350.
