which tail shaft?
 
Which tail shaft is on a th350 long wheel base 2wheel drive truck, 6in. or 9in.?

(Not longhorn long)

all 69 - 72 TH350 trucks had a short shaft

I figured all years would be the same...its in a 68.

well, to be 100% acurate, there were only powerglides, Th400's, and manual shift trannys in 67/68.

Lol, I cant win. I bought this truck from a board member awhile back. He installed a rebuilt motor and im pretty sure he said the trans was a th350. Hmmm, I wonder if I can remember the name of the guy I bought it from? Checkin pm's.

well if it has a kickdown cable its a th350, also the pan is different than a th400 the 400 uses an electric kickdown or you could just measure your tailshaft oh and the modulator valve location is different from the th350 to th400 also

I just found him in an old pm and asked him via pm. The truck is about 15 minutes away from me parked in a barn and im too lazy to go look =)



I really dont know jack about auto trannys. Im buying a gear vendors overdrive and I need to know which one I have so I buy the correct one.

Well I crawled under it tonight and it looks to be a 400. Thanks for all the help and thanks for the great tranny link.
